Chapter 26 - The Fox and the Bee

Days turned into weeks. Weeks turned into two months. The amount of akumas? None. That was until current day. It was Mid July, the summers days hot and muggy. Marinette had been enjoying an ice-cream cone with Alya in the park, the sun high up in the sky. Alya's stomach was slowly growing in size, the tiny baby maturing nicely.

Screams and the following sound of cackling came from the next street over. Alya was already on it.
"Marinette, look!" She nudged the bluenette's arm, pointing at her phone. The live news footage of an akumatized woman was on the screen.
"My name is Calamity! The ONLY woman who WONT be destroyed!" Marinette was already racing away, leaving Alya to wonder what was going on.

Marinette ducked into an empty bathroom stall that was at the entrance of the park. She opened her purse to let Tikki out.
"Its time to transform, Tikki spots on!" One catchphrase and a little magic later, Ladybug was running towards the scene.

Ladybug stood on the edge of an ornate building, clutching her double-yoyo in her left hand.
"Times up, Calamity!" She yelled, ignoring the vast destruction that littered the area. Buildings crumbled and innocent civilians were trapped inside buildings to do concrete in front of exits.

"Ladybug..." Calamity growled. "I will not let you get in my way!" She yowled, and with a swipe of her hand the building under Ladybug's feet crumbled. Ladybug felt herself begin to fall, but then stopped short. Wind blew in her face as she landed softly, the body heat of someone else pressed against her shoulder. She blinked and looked up at her savior. Expecting Chat Noir, instead it was a new superhero.

"Ladybug, nice to meet you. Call me Fox." He set her down and then jumped into action. He had bright red hair that matched his suit of orange. A red to orange to white ombré tail hung down to his feet. On his arm was a small disk which he took off and hurled at Calamity. It knocked her off her feet. Fox's ears twitched with delight.

Chat Noir landed beside Ladybug. "My lady, who is that?" He asked, confused to why she was standing there dumbfounded when normally she would be kicking this akuma's ass.
"I have no idea. I was about to fall, he swooped in and saved me and said his name was Fox." She looked dazed. Chat furrowed his eyebrows and then shook his head.
"Well, no time to sit around. Time to help!" He jumped over a couple rooftops to help their supposed new partner.

Ladybug patted her cheeks and then jumped into action. Not to soon after, Queen Bee arrived. As soon as she did, Fox seemed to perk up and fight extra hard. It was four against one, but Calamity certainly held her own. Only when Ladybug used her lucky charm did Calamity fall to their mercy.

Ladybug cleansed the akuma of evil and then returned the city back to normal.
"Pound it." She said in unison with Chat Noir as they engaged in a fist bump. The other new superheroes weren't even paying attention to them.

"You were unbeelievably amazing out there, your highness~" Fox mused, kissing Queen Bee's hand.
'He acts like Chat did years ago...' Ladybug thought to herself, crossing her arms over her chest; hip popping to the side.

Queen Bee smiled. "Aren't you a sly one." She poked his nose, pushing his head away gently.
"Ahem." Chat cleared his throat, catching the attention of the flirtatious pair.

"So uh, you guys are just going to be joining us now?" Chat Noir asked, earning a sigh from Ladybug.
"Of course~ we were given a miraculous just like you two. Just don't expect to get rid of us so easily." Queen Bee retorted.

Ladybug stepped into the conversation. "What are your Miraculous?" She asked, glancing at her earrings which beeped, telling her she only had about three minutes to spare.
"My comb." Queen Bee pointed to the comb that was stuck in her hair.
"My necklace." Fox held up the fox-tail necklace that Ladybug recognized from her teenage years. Lila had claimed to be Volpina, using an exact copy of the actual fox Miraculous.
