Adrien's eyes flickered open, golden rays of early morning sunlight shining through the drapes, almost blinding him for a second. He let his eyes adjust to his surroundings. It was only then did he notice the petite woman, Marinette, still laying on top of him. His hands were still at the top of her head and the middle of her back. From the looks of it, she was still asleep. They were both still dressed in their evening finery.
Marinette's dress lay flat, covering their legs and hanging off the edge of the couch, nearly touching the floor. Her head was still laying against his shoulder. The moment was still there. A smile formed on his lips. He leaned his head down slightly, pressing his lips against the top of her head. She stirred, but her eyes never opened.
He was still amazed by how light she was. Sure, she had a figure and wasn't as skinny as before, but she couldn't weight more that 115 pounds. She was small. But she wasn't weak. She was his princess. But also a warrior. What more could he ask for?
Adrien was snapped out of his thoughts by the two kwamis, Plagg and Tikki flying over, smug looks on their face.
"Quite the situation you are in~" Plagg teased. Adrien scowled.
"Shh.. you'll wake her." He whispered. But it didn't matter. Marinette stirred again, lifting her head off his chest as she blinked the sleep out of her eyes. Adrien shot the kwamis a look before focusing back on Marinette.
"Good morning, princess." He smiled, brushing her bangs out of her face gently.Marinette surveyed her surroundings, cheeks flushing pink once she realized the position they were in. She lifted herself up and into a proper sitting position quickly, rubbing the back of her neck.
"S-sorry-!" She squeaked. Adrien chuckled and shook his head.
"Nothing to worry about." His stomach growled. Their dinners last night were small, but hella expensive.Adrien and Marinette agreed to go get breakfast together at a local cafe. But definitely not in such clothing. So, Adrien transformed and changed into something more appropriate at his penthouse while Marinette did the same in her room. Marinette put on a red knit sweater, dark blue jeans, a beanie that matched the sweater and white converse. She kept her hair in the loose curls.
Adrien showed up at her door wearing a black shirt with a white shirt over it, and then blue jeans. Their hands laced together and they began to make their way to the coffee house. Reporters with cameras and microphones immediately surrounded the couple.
"Adrien Agreste! After years of silence, Gabriel Agreste has finally made an appearance! What is your explanation?" One asked.
"Adrien Agreste?! Is this your girlfriend?!"
"Adrien Agreste, will Gabriel take over the company again?!"The reporters surrounded them, shoving microphones and recorders in their face. Adrien narrowed his eyes and pushed through the reporters.
"Come on Marinette." He called, his hand slipping from her grasp. She squeaked and began pushing her way throgh the compact bodies, dodging cameras and microphones. She caught a glimpse of Adrien walking ahead of her, and then a speeding news van heading straight for him. Her eyes widened.
"Adrien! Look out!" She screamed, pushing her way through the wave of reporters. She shoved Adrien out of the way.~
Adrien stumbled and fell to the concrete, his hands all scratched up and bleeding.
BLAM. SCREEEECH.
Silence. Out of the corner of his eye he watched as Marinette's body rolled to the other side of the street. The news van screeched to a stop, tires rolling up on the curb, the hood of the car had a large dent in it. His eyes widened and heart stopped.
"MARINETTE!!" He screamed and ran over, stumbling and falling onto the cement next to her. Her jeans were torn and bloody. Her sweater was ripped, blood darkening the already crimson yarn. Her hair was matted and her bangs stuck to her forehead as a large gash bled heavily.
"M-Marinette..? Marinette! Come on, wake up princess!" He shook her shoulder gently. Her eyes never opened.
