"Who is Marinette?" She asked. Adrien felt his stomach drop. She really had lost her memory. Adrien felt his heart shatter. All of her memories were gone now. All her memories of him.

"T-that's your name... Marinette Dupain-Cheng." he said, tears welling up in his eyes.

"A-and... who are you..?" She asked, tilting her head slightly.
"I'm... I'm Adrien. A friend of yours..." he told her. Why he didn't tell her the truth...? He didn't want to freak her out and put pressure on her. It wasn't his place to force her back into a relationship after loosing all memory of it. But he still had a glimmer of hope that she might grow comfortable with him again.

"My friend..." she whispered. "Why don't I remember anything..?" She asked. Adrien swallowed hard, his Adam's apple bobbed up and down.
"You were hit by a car. You pushed me out of the way to save me." He stared down at the sheets.
"Wow... it's like I am some sort of superhero!" She giggled. Adrien's heart broke even more.
"Yea..." his voice was hardly even a whisper.

Tom and Sabine had come in later that day. They intended to drop off some treats for Adrien but were surprised to see their only daughter awake. They were equally as heartbroken as Adrien upon finding out she really had no memories. All the little missing pieces of her life, only to be in the distant memory of others.

Tom put a gentle hand on Adrien's shoulder, and gestured for him to join the aging man with him in the hallway. Adrien obliged, Marinette's eyes glued to Adrien's back as he left with who she found out was her father.

"Adrien... I imagine this is just as hard for you as it is to us." Tom started, his large hands hanging at his sides. "We have a lifetime of memories of her childhood. But you have memories of her now. You were something really special to her, and you helped her after moving back here." His eyes were soft.

"T-thank you, sir." Adrien stumbled over his own words. He wasn't entirely sure where Tom was intending on taking this conversation. But he was guessing that he was about to find out.

"The doctor has said it is possible she might be able to gain some or all of her memories back. He doesn't know how specifically since all cases are different... but it happens most often when saying certain words or when they see certain objects." He explained. Adrien knew he shouldn't, but hope rose up in his chest. "If it is at all possible, your help of bringing her memory back, is any would be a real blessing." Tom admitted.

Adrien, still shocked from all this recent news wasn't quite sure how to respond. He simply nodded. Tom continued.
"When she would skype us, she talked about you a lot, you know." He smiled. "Thank you for staying by her side." Tom clapped Adrien's shoulder and shook it slightly, before letting it fall back into place has his petite wife, Sabine walked out of the room.

"She's all yours, Adrien. We've got to get going. Please take care of her." Sabine smiled, and then walked down the hall with Tom, his arm around her shoulder. Adrien watched them leave, jaw set. He made a decision then and there. He would be patient, and supportive. He'd help Marinette till she was back on her feet again. It wouldn't be easy, but he was determined.

Marinette watched as Adrien walked back into the small room. She still didn't know much yet, other than he was her friend and the two people who had just visited were her parents. Yet, the gnawing feeling in her stomach told her that she still had a lot to learn.

Adrien was kind and helpful. He told her about some of her other close friends, Alya and Nino who had just gotten married. She learned that she had been Alya's bridesmaid. Adrien told her that she had her own business, selling clothes online to save up enough to build a boutique of her own. The more he told her things the more they made sense. More like... the more they felt familiar.
