Chapter 35.1: 1994, Ruiz

"Oh, Ambrose..."

My hips were swaying against his hips and he was teasing me, trying to kiss my ear but instead warming it with his silky breath. My heart folded on itself as his arm extended, and I was in a twirl. With grace, he pulled me to his body and with my back to his chest he kissed my neck. My eyes closed, feeling him this way.

"I didn't know you knew how to dance," I whispered, caught in a dream.

"I can't be Miss Cha Cha's daughter and not know how to dance," he chuckled softly, his warm, so soft lips kissing up to my ear. I melted as adorable visions of him dancing with Miss Cha Cha filled my head. Maybe of him clumsily stepping on her feet, getting tangled in his own. Before I knew it, I was laughing with him.

"What are you laughing about?" he giggled. Our laughter threatened to end the romantic dream, or continue it in an even better way.

"I was- I was thinking about you and Miss Cha Cha dancing," I giggled back.

"Yeah? How so?" He whispered this so seriously into my ear that it sent a long, warm shiver up my spine, quieting me.

All around us, Selena sang "No Me Queda Mas". Maybe not the most romantic song, but if it made Ambrose dance with me like this, it was the most romantic song in the world.

"Mm, its not important," I purred, snuggling into him as his hips started to swing again, pressed against me. My hands slid down his body, landing on them and feeling them moving slowly. He kissed into my hair, leaning the side of his beautiful face on mine.

"I love you, Ruiz," he whispered in a sort of tease, like a child who had a crush would say to another on the playground. So innocent, sweet.

"I love y-"

Beep, beep, beep!

I felt his body clench in the surprise of the beeps. I sighed inside of myself.

No, brownies. Do you have any manners? We're dancing. Can't you cook for twenty more minutes? Ten? Even just five? Why do you have to be ready already?

Then the next song came on and ruined the spell even more. A bouncy song. Ambrose parted from me and started to go towards the kitchen and I felt a sadness in me already, missing his body so close to mine. His warmth, his steady and familiar weight.

But I was met with him dancing by himself, and then.

"Me dijiste que sentías un inmenso amor~!" he sang with Selena, going down the hallway, echoing in the close walls. I started to giggle, forgetting immediately my sadness. "Que era yo la medicina para tu dolor~!" he disappeared into the kitchen and like the love mad child on the playground I followed after him so quick.

"Beep beep beep," he mimicked the oven as it beeped at us again, warning us it was still heating and of the brownies continuing to cook inside.

I giggled at him, he was being so cute. He was so happy, drawing out his merriment. Alegría in its purest form. All because we were together, baking brownies, dancing, together on this New Year's Eve all alone. In love, enjoying each other...

"Hand me that kitchen cloth, okay?" he asked politely, reaching out to me. I obeyed eagerly, handing him the yellow kitchen cloth on the table. As he opened the hot oven, I went to the cabinet and took out a large glass plate for the brownies to lay on. The idea of him feeding me a freshly warm, fudge filled brownie made an almost orgasmically steamy and loving feeling flood into my core. I almost dropped the plate, it was so good.
