Chapter 82.1: 1995, Ruiz
"I'll be back in about four hours. Is that enough time?"
Miss Cha Cha was sitting with us at a picnic table on the roof's deck. There was a basketball game going on surrounded by black chain link nearby. The sound of the ball was getting repetitive, but the people playing looked pretty happy.
"It should be enough time, yeah. Sometimes groups run over time, like thirty minutes more. But its still enough time. Today we're going to be talking a lot individually, so it might run over. Definitely still enough time, though." Ambrose was smiling warmly like a summer breeze, holding my hand gently on our bench.
"Okay. Well, call me if you need more time. You have my cellphone number?"
"I have it," I assured her. I couldn't help smiling either and I knew she was seeing this. She looked pleased.
"Okay. Well, I have to go now. Georgina is waiting for me. I'm so sorry I can't stay, too."
"Its alright. There's going to be another one next week. Its kind of a weekly thing, but I wasn't allowed to have visitors when I first got here. This is only my first week with it. So there's going to be next week, too, for sure."
"Oh alright. Good." Miss Cha Cha smiled at the both of us, that sneaky smile she always reserved for us. But looking at it now it seemed less sneaky and more proud. It set my heart at ease.
With this, she got up and collected her purse. We waved to her as she walked out of the deck and into the building again. Suddenly we were left alone, well relatively alone. The people playing basketball weren't paying attention to us at all so it was basically private.
Even so, Ambrose lowered his voice and leaned into me, setting my body aflutter in too familiar attraction. How I'd missed this. I squeezed his hand to try to show him how I felt. He squeezed mine back, causing me to make a fist with my other hand in order to try to contain myself.
"You're blushing," he said quietly to me, his voice so close to my ear and his breath so hot compared to the cool breezes going by.
"Well, you're here, so..."
"My heart is going so fast because you're here."
I pressed my lips together at this, feeling like I was going to explode. My face was like a pumping red tomato now, for sure. Knowing he could see that just made the blush even worse.
"You look very pretty," he continued quietly and slow, "you're wearing female stuff this time. I like your dress. I thought that color always looked good on you."
I nodded, my feet starting to wiggle. Oh god this feeling. "Yeah, I wore it because I know you like this color on me." I could barely speak. I wanted to look at his face, but I couldn't. That would make me go into the stratosphere.
"Yeah? You're so cute."
"You're cu-"
And suddenly he was kissing me. His lips were so soft, hot against mine. When his beautiful pink tongue slipped between my lips I was done for and oh god his hand was on my breast and-
PHHWEEET! "Hey! Violation! No kissing! I told you that, Valencia! We went over this!"
I pulled away quickly wondering what the heck was going on but his hands grabbed the straps of my dress and pulled me in again, his head going to the left as he bit my bottom lip and pulled it in his mouth and oh god-
"Hey!"
I felt him startle, and pull away. Oh god no.
"Didn't you hear me?! I'll put you into the cafeteria and have somebody watch you! You know I'll do it. Kissing is against the damn rules. I told everybody that in morning meeting. You were there!"
