I made my way with Ross to the blanket that the band was sitting on. Waiting for him to introduce me to his band - who I already knew.
It got awkward when I remembered he didn't even know my name. They all stared at me, while I stood there waiting.
The silence was awful, and the thing that stopped it was Ellington making a very obvious cough, and Rocky going "So who's your friend?"
Ross looked at me, then back at them, and back to me.
"My names Blair..." I said mostly to Ross, not realizing only he could hear it.
"Blair?" He said confirming it. I smiled as a yes.
"Huh?" Rocky said, looking around the rest of the group.
"She said Blair." Ellington said, in a loud voice. "Jeez guys."
I felt so unwelcome now. When I was talking just to Ross it was easier, for some reason. Now I felt like an intruder. I leaned towards Ross, asking him "Where should we sit..?"
"I call this spot!" Shouted Aiden, probably trying to be as annoying as possible. He wiggled himself between Rydel and Riker. I wanted to cover my face with my hand, but I just watched him and tightened my fist so my nails were digging into my palm.
"Sorry." I said, to Riker and Rydel, I lifted my eyebrows at Aiden.
"Nah, he's cool." Riker said, watching my brother get comfy.
"Yeah, you're lucky. I have five brothers." Rydel said, making me laugh.
I looked around the blanket, there wasn't much space left.
"You can take my spot." Ross said, pointing to a barley open area.
"You sure?" I asked.
"Yeah I was gonna go for a swim anyways." He said looking out over to the water. "Guys?" He asked, wanting to know of anyone wanted to tag along.
All of the boys got up, including Aiden. "Can I?" He asked.
"I guess?" I watched him follow the guys that were a few feet taller than him. "Um...Ross?" I shouted. I watched as he turned around, flicking his hair to the side.
"Yeah?" He stopped walking, and all the guys turned with him now.
"Can you-". I cut myself off as I pointed to the little boy prancing behind them.
"Got him." They all said.
"Thanks! Don't drown Aiden." I added the last part. If I didn't come back to the hotel without a brother, vacations over.
With the guys gone, it left just Rydel and I. Of course, I was silent. I didn't have anything interesting to say. I took a glance at Rydel who was smiling at me.
"What?" I asked. She scooted herself closer.
"He likes you..." She said in a girly tone.
"I'm sorry?" I asked, confused. I highly doubt anyone likes me.
"Ross." She said abruptly. "He totally likes you!" She laughed at me like I was clueless to the situation. Which, I was. He was just being nice right?
"I don't think so." I corrected her.
"Yeah, well he's my brother and I think so." She said starting to lean away as they started walking back. Short game? She leaned over again quickly. "He doesn't look at everyone that way." I stopped looking at her, and focused my vision on Ross who was also looking at me. I decided it was best to look away for now.
"Give me your phone." She commanded. I gave her a look, but also gave her my phone.
Yes Blair, give your phone to a stranger. Well, maybe she isn't a stranger.
I watched her type stuff into my phone. I should probably put a lock on it. She's handed it back really quick with a smile.
"What did you-" I looked at the screen. She put in her number. I had one of my idols numbers..? What kind of vacation is this?
