I got out of the car then went to find Jenna. I decided that nobody I was seeing today needed to know about my latest conversation with Ross. So I just buried it in the back of my head, and instead tried to stay happy, and actually have fun today. So I found Jenna, Cory, Leah, Alex, and Josh waiting in the main lodge. I stood next to Josh while buying tickets, because the other two girls in the group weren't going to leave their boyfriends alone. This is going to be like a double date, plus two awkward friends.
As soon as we got the tickets paid for, we went to find the actual sledding hill. Which happened to be more of a walk than I expected, and it's worse considering you have to walk through the powdery snow. We all fell at least once in the snow, trying to make it over there. I just continued to wonder why there isn't a path to these sledding hills.
"Alright. That was not apreciated." Leah said laughing once we finally arrived.
"Yeah, I'm not making any more trips except for when we leave." Cory said.
"Stop complaining, we're here." Alex said, trying to sound like a dad when the kids keep asking 'Are we there yet?'
We all got onto the lifts to the top of the hill, and grabbed a sled once we got there. There weren't many people there, which was nice because that means less lines and more rides.
So naturally we all raced eachother down. I made a point to race everyone, and win. Except I let Leah win, considering she complained if she didn't. How does Alex deal with her complaining?
After so many runs people started to get freezing and wanted to go back inside. "It's too cold out here. Anyone wanna go back?" Leah asked, looking around the group.
"Yeah, I'm beat. Let's go." Jenna added.
"I might stay and go down a one or two more, if anyone wants to.." I said awkwardly.
"Blair, it's like negative too many degrees out here." Leah said sarcastically.
"I'll go down a few more." Josh said to me.
"Cool." I answered. "You guys can go back to the lodge if you want. We will meet you later." No second thoughts, and they all turned around to hike back to the lodge. I laughed a bit then turned to go up the lift.
"It's not that cold." Josh said jokingly.
"We live in Ohio, what do they expect?" I laughed.
"Palm trees and pina coladas." He responded.
"Oh, I could really go for pina colada right now." I said, grabbing my sled.
"Okay, that I don't know about considering it is a cold drink. That's a no for me."
"What about like warm pina colada." I said, not realizing how disgusting that would be until I said it.
"That's gross." He said, and I started laughing.
"Joking." I said back.
"But what about, like coconut hot chocolate." He said. "That would be good."
"That would be..." I said thinking about it, not realizing that it was our turn to go down the hill.
"I'm gonna beat you." Josh said in a sporty voice, getting in his sled.
"I highly doubt it." I got in my sled and waited for the employee to say go, then pushing myself down the hill. Looking forward then looking to my right to see if Josh was ahead o me, and he wasn't. At least he wasn't until my sled hit an ice chunk and toppled over the side at the very bottom of the hill. I felt the cold burn of snow against my skin, and the ice making it's way into my clothing. I pushed the sled off of me and got up, seeing Josh walking over to help me.
"I came to help you up...but you're already up." He laughed. "You okay?" He said examining me.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I brushed the snow off of me. "Might have a bruise or two, but that's pretty normal for me."
He chuckled a bit, then casually brought his hand to my hair to brush out the snow. I looked at his hand, then back. Then I felt somesort of guilt come up from me. It just hit me, no reason why. That time when I lied to him. Maybe I should give him a chance, I mean Ross moved on, so should I.
"Hey, can I tell you something?" I said, him putting his hand down.
"Yeah, of course." He said seriously.
"This is off topic, and a little awkward but-"
"It's fine." He said.
"Okay, well you emember the time when we" I choked on my words a little, "kissed, in the neighborhood?"
"Well yeah.." He said, seeming to be confused.
"And then you asked if I felt anything?" I continued.
"Yes..?" He said.
"And I said no." I added.
"What are you trying to get to?" He asked trying to clear things up for himself.
"I lied." I said, before anything else came out of my mouth.
"What?" He said, not on the same page as me. I was trying to flip the pages as slow as he was reading them.
"I wasn't ready to be in any sort of relationship, so I thought lying was the better option. Maybe it was, but the thing is- if the option is still there?" I said, sort of surprised I had even said this.
"You mean, us be a couple?" He said, he was obviously a few pages behind.
"Yes." I said, and he looked away from me, then back.
"Well are you sure? After everything that happened with us?" He said, confirming my thoughts with his.
"None of that matters anymore, it happened and we can't change it. What do we have to lose?" I said, really wishing he would just go with this.
"Virginity." He said, dead serious. Except I knew he was joking, because a second later he laughed.
"Really." I said, also laughing.
"You're right though." He said seriously again, not joking this time. "Well then, Blair?"
"Yes?" I asked semi-confused.
"Would you do the honor of being my girlfriend?" He asked politely, with a cute smile to match.
"I would love to." I said smiling, then hugging him tightly.
