Chapter 36

DAY OF INTERVIEW

The days went by quickly. There wasn't much work to do, considering it was early in the year. Jenna and I hung out a lot. People still looked at me weird for dating Ross, but I didn't care. Josh was still caring about me, but I just left that whole thing alone. Also of course Ross and I talked everyday on the phone. Today was Friday, the day I get to hear his new song. Which I am overwhelmingly excited about.

The bell rang to go home, and I couldn't wait to get out of that school. I grabbed my keys and phone out of my backpack pocket as I walked to the car. I turned my phone on to see a text from Ross.

~Call me ASAP before the show!~

I sat down in the car and dialed his number.

"Ross?" I asked into the phone when it stopped ringing.

"Blair! Ok, we will be on channel 5 in 10ish minutes!"

"10 minutes?! I'm still at school!" I rested the phone between my shoulder and ear while starting the car.

"Ok, well just get home fast. But don't speed...just, never mind just get there!" I laughed into the phone as he said this.

"Babe, I only live a few minutes away! I'll make it on time." I said calming him.

"I know," he let out a little laugh, "I'm just so excited! I wrote this song and it took forever...I just want to make sure you see it ASAP."

"Well I will, and I know it will be amazing."

"Ok, now I have to go. I'll call you after."

"Alright." We hung up. As soon as I got home, I dropped my backpack to the living room floor and walked to the tv, turning it to channel 5.

"Next up, we have one of the most popular new bands, R5." I watched one of the talk show hosts say.

I sat and waited for commercials to be over, which of course took forever. Then the host came back on.

"We have R5 with us today, to sing a new song. How special are we being the first to hear it?" He said. "So let's hear about this song. I understand you guys wrote it?"

"Actually Ross wrote most of it, we just helped some." Riker said. I watched as Ross smiled at the host. I missed that smile, with that sparkle in his eyes.

"Oh, so what is it about?" The host asked Ross now.

"Well, it is about a girl." Ross said, trying not to give too much information away.

"Who is this girl?" Asked the host, curious.

"This girl happens to be my girlfriend, and this song explains how she completely changed my world, and I would do anything to be with her right now." Said Ross.

"That's sweet. Well why don't you play us this song now?" Said the host.

"Of course." The band got ready, and Ross leaned to his microphone. "Blair, this is for you." He said as Rocky started playing the guitar part. Then came Rydel and Ellington with their parts. Finally Ross joined in singing.
