"Hurry up!" Jenna said to me as I finished doing my eye makeup. "Blair we are gonna be late and will never get a good seat." I quickly swiped on some mascara, then screwed the cap back on.
"Done. I'm done, let's go." New Years was always hectic. I grabbed my bag and Jenna and I went out to the car. Jenna decided to drive.
"So...?" She said focusing on the road.
"So what?" I asked confused.
"Is he coming?" She asked me.
"Um...no. I don't think so."
"What do you mean?"
"Well we haven't talked about it...so I don't think he is coming."
"Oh." She said sadly. "Sorry."
"It's fine."
"Well when are you going to tell him about college?" She asked me.
"Sometime soon." I said.
"Okay." We pulled into the parking lot searching for a space. It was completely packed.
"There's one!" I said as she almost passed one up.
"Oh, okay cool." She pulled in and we got out. I got out of the car, and turned around to not see Jenna.
"Jenna?" I called. I walked back to the car and looked at the drivers door ajar. Her sitting there changing her shoes.
"Yeah?" She asked biting her lip as she shoved her foot into the shoe.
"Really." I said sarcastically. "You need to wear stilettos?"
"Blair-" she cut herself off. "Shut up." She laughed.
"Okay, but if you fall...I'm just a laughing at you."
"Leave it, it's New Years. Have a little fun!"
"That ride down to the ground when you fall will be fun." I laughed. And she punched my shoulder.
We walked in looking at all the people dancing and talking. This had become a popular place over the years.
"See any tables?" Jenna asked.
"No..." I lingered my words as I scanned my eyes across the room. "Wait, there." I walked over to the table, setting all my belongings down. I turned around to look at Jenna, but bumped into her instead causing her to stumble and start falling back. I was about to laugh and apologize. That was until some guy caught her.
"Watch miss, you could have hit the ground." I heard the guy say.
"Yeah, I um- thanks." She said, pushing her hair behind her ear. She looked so awkward. Is that what I looked like when I fell on Ross when I met him..? I didn't want to interrupt them though..because he was hot...and Jenna seemed to be pleased staring at him.
"You okay?" He asked her. That's awkward. I don't think he realizes I was listening.
"Yeah, yeah...I'm great." She shook her head and continued to fix her hair. "I'm Jenna, by the way."
"That's a nice name." He said. I could see it, he was giving Jenna that look. I know that look...the eyes open, I can't look away thing. "I'm Dylan." Cute name... "Do you-" he started over, "you wanna dance?"
"Oh I'm," she turned around to me. "I'm with her." He just blinked, because what Jenna said was probably not the best choice of words.
"Oh sorry, I didn't-". He said backing away.
"Okay, no we aren't together. Yeah she wants to dance." I said, watching Jenna's face turn red.
"Yeah." Was all she got out. "You sure? I can stay?" She said only to me.
