Dinner had gone smoothly. No food fights, spills, or embarrassing childhood stories. It was mostly the parents talking about jobs and random subjects.
Aiden seemed to take a liking to Rocky, probably because Rocky started playing video games with him earlier. Which is where they all went after dinner too. Ross decided to finish off the 'house tour.' Which was actually just wondering around until we ended up outside.
I walked over and sat on the diving board of their pool. I looked up at the dark sky, it was filled with stars.
"Oh wow, the stars look like Christmas lights right here." I said admiring the sky. Ross came and sat next to me. I moved over a little bit to make room.
"So my parents seem to like you." He laughed.
"They didn't talk to me much."
"That's probably a good thing. They'd only question you if they were concerned."
"True." I responded.
"It's later by the way." He noted. I rolled my eyes even though he couldn't see it.
"I'm not starting on the again."
"You're not even in choir or something."
"No."
"You should sing more."
"No." I answered and leaned back on him behind me.
"You never will?" He asked adjusting himself to be more comfortable with me leaning on him.
"Nope."
"Not even with me?" He asked and I wrapped my arm around to the back of his head bringing him closer to me.
"Maybe." Then I leaned up and kissed him lightly.
"Was that to shut me up?" He said disappointed.
"Yeah." I laughed while nodding and going back in for another one.
"Blair we're leaving!" I heard my brother scream.
"Okay!" I said leaning away and shouting back. "I gotta go." I said laughing when I turned around because apparently I shouted in Ross's ear.
"Yeah, I figured that out." He said getting up and pulling me with him. We both made our way back inside where everyone was standing as a group.
Ross had his arm around me and I barely even noticed but my mom did. "You guys are cute." She said with a mom-smile in front of everyone.
"Mom." I said awkwardly and everyone else laughed.
"Okay we have to head out." My mom said. "This ones tired." She put her hand on Aiden's head.
"Not really." Aiden said swiping her hand off.
"Okay, I'm tired." My mom said making the parents laugh while everyone else fake laughed.
She started walking which made us all disperse and my family plus Ross and his parents walked outside.
I thanked his parents then my mom thanked them as well. I knew they'd chat for a minute so I took advantage of that time.
"I'll text you later." I said to Ross.
"Alright. Thanks for stopping by." He smiled.
"Thanks for inviting me." I smiled back.
"Blair!" My mom called from the car. I glanced at the car quickly then looked back at Ross.
"Sorry." I said.
"I'll see you tomorrow?" He asked.
"Probably." I said then gave him a goodbye hug and went to our car, sliding into the front seat.
My mom backed out of the driveway and started back to the hotel. "You guys are cute though." She brought back from earlier.
"Yeah...I know." I said partially smiling to myself with my eyes glued out the window as we drove.
