Chapter 72

"Merry Christmas!" I said as I heard the phone pick up.

"You too!" He said. My mom had brought my phone to me telling me simply to call him.

"How's it going?" I asked walking to the other end of my house, because I knew now that my mom was listening to our conversations.

"Normal Christmas to me." He said laughing. "You?"

"Yeah, pretty normal...so far." I replied.

"It could have been better, but oh well."

"How could it have been better?" I asked and completely walked into a sappy love story line.

"Well we could be together." He said, why is he so cheesy.

"I actually wanted to talk about that." I added.

"About what?"

"Us being together." I said.

"Alright, what about us?" He asked slowing down his words.

"Can we just, be together?" I said, then tried to clarify it. "I'm asking you now if we can get back together." I stuttered a little.

"Like right now?" He seemed extremely surprised.

"Well what are we right now?"

"I'm a guy and you're a girl."

"And I'm pretty sure that wasn't my question." I laughed back.

"I wasn't done." He said, okay so maybe this was going somewhere. "I'm a guy who is practically obsessed with a girl, and you're a girl who is asking to get back together with a guy who couldn't possibly say no."

"So that's a yes?" I asked trying to confirm his words.

"So that's a yes." He repeated, I smiled myself. "Is this like a Christmas present or something."

"Maybe something along those lines."

"Can I just ask something first?" He said.

"Sure."

"Why are you asking this now? What instinct made you want to get back together now?" He asked curiously.

"Probably the same reason you didn't hesitate to say yes."

"Well I can't say no." He said. "But how are we gonna make this work."

"We've been some sort of couple for this whole time, I think we have made it work for a while now."

"So just keep the same thing going?"

"I think that works." I said.

"I think any situation where we are together again works."

"I think you're right." We both laughed.

"So now I'm a guy with a girlfriend." Ross said. "Right now, I'm pretty happy."

"We are officially a couple again." I stated happily, repeating the words in my head.
