Hi everyone!
My name is Rachel- StellaCar1229. I've been writing ever since I can remember. When I was about 6 years old to about 10 years old, my mom would take me to her writing classes and would have me write with her group. I only wrote short stories when I was young, but they just got longer and longer. Currently, I have three stories I'm working on. The one I just started is what you will be getting a sneak peek of.
Besides writing, I work full time as a veterinary technician. I have two beagles, a cat, and a rabbit. My one beagle I take to local libraries two-three times a month for children to read to her. It's a great program and helps teach kids to read. It's also amazing to see some of these kids imagination.
I also love traveling and try to go somewhere new every year. It definitely helps with my writing to travel different places. It fills your mind with new cultures and how others live. It will definitely help with my newest book. Here is a sneak peek of it! I really hope you enjoy it. I look forward to writing more. I must say a big thank you to Kelly Anne for putting this all together for us all. Its a huge honor to even be able to be featured here. Also, thank you to all who have and are reading my current stories. I'm very grateful for everyone of you. Enjoy!
Peace and Love,

Adventures of the Time Chasers
By StellaCar1229
The buzzing of electric currents whipped through the laboratory at Oxford University. Phoebe worked tirelessly in recreating the generator that her great-great-great grandfather, Nikola Tesla, created. Some would say she was a little obsessed with it. She had her reasons though- none in which anyone would believe.
Almost four years had gone by since that night that changed Phoebe forever. She would have never imagined the possibilities of one of the famed inventions of Nikola Tesla to actually take her and three of her friends back in time. No one believed them when they told of the amazing adventure thousands of years in the past. As time went by, Phoebe's three friends denied the story that they used to tell, saying it was all a joke that stemmed from a dream one of them had. Phoebe wasn't having that. She knew that what happened wasn't a dream and was very real. She left all her friends and family behind to search for the truth. She finished her double major in engineering physics and archeology at Oxford University and went on to work in their Archeology Department.
Phoebe worked endlessly to figure out a way to travel back in time. Long nights and strong coffee is what she lived on for months on end. Her coworkers watched her, thinking she was crazy just like her great-great-great grandfather, Nikola Tesla. To her, he was pure genius and she strived to be just like him.
The lights flickered as Phoebe connected the last wire to her generator. The buzzing sound became louder, making Phoebe's heart pound rapidly in her chest. Did she finally recreate the generator after months of getting it wrong? All seemed to be going the exact same way it had before. The bolts of blue light began to increase. Phoebe stood back from the table the generator was on. She watched and prepared herself for the electric shock that she would soon feel. She longed for it. It was more to prove that they did go back in time once before than it was her desire to go back in time again.
As the buzzing became louder, Phoebe's excitement grew. A bolt whipped out and around her; a smile etched itself on her lips. A loud pop shook the building; more blue bolts ran around the small room. Phoebe closed her eyes and reached her right hand out to feel the electricity touch her fingertips. The first bolt grazed her hand, sending a high-pitched electric noise throughout the room until all was silent.
Phoebe opened her eyes, expecting to be somewhere- anywhere else besides the laboratory she always found herself in. She blinked a few times, but all she saw before her was darkness. Confusion filled her mind as she looked around. She squinted her eyes, hoping that it was just a game her mind was playing on her. She couldn't see anything around her, but she didn't feel the same as she had before. Nothing was different as it was before. She still felt the cool air around her and smelled the strong aroma of her coffee.
Before she could reach out to the generator, the lights came back on. She looked around and sure enough she was still in the laboratory. The generator was blackened and everything that Phoebe had been working on for months was gone in mere seconds. She sat down in front of it, staring in utter shock. She covered her face with her hands in defeat.
"You know every time this happens they call me. At least I know it's you and not someone breaking into the laboratory." A voice said behind Phoebe. She glanced behind her to see her co-worker, Alex.
"I'll clean up. I always do." Phoebe sighed and put a cover over top the generator. Alex ruffled his dark brown hair and grinned.
"Or you could just ask for help with whatever you are working on instead of creating a blackout."
"Ask for help? From who? You?" Phoebe scoffed, picking up the journal that was passed down through generations. "I don't need help, Alex."
"Come on, Phoebe. I know what was said in America about you. I'm from New York too and the news was everywhere." Alex said, shoving his hands in his jean pockets.
"So you think I'm crazy too then. Everyone does."
Alex furrowed his eyebrows, rubbing the minimal amount of scruff that he wore, "No, I don't think that. Who knows if there is away to go in the past. You may have found it." He stepped towards the table, leaning on it. Phoebe uncovered her little generator, running her fingers along the top.
"It did happen. It wasn't a dream. I know it was and I intend on proving it." She said.
"Ok, lets do it then."
"I don't remember inviting you."
Alex smirked, "You didn't. However, you need help. Your grandfather's journal must say how he made his generators, right?" He said, pointing to the leather bound book in Phoebe's hand.
"Great-great-great-grandfather," She corrected. "He has every detail written about how he created his generators, but I can't seem to recreate them. Every single one has blown up in my face."
"Well, lets see what that is all about. Maybe you are missing something. May I?" Alex asked, holding out his hand for the journal. Phoebe nodded, handing him the journal. She sat back as Alex read the journal. She knew she wasn't missing anything, but what if she was? What if that is the reason she hasn't been successful in recreating Nikola Tesla's generator? Maybe she'll never go back in time again or maybe it wasn't real at all. Maybe it was merely a dream.
