What you really wanted to achieve on your writing career this year? Here's a run-down of some of my personal #authorgoals and how I achieved some of it, how I wanted to achieve more and how to I want YOU to achieve yours.
Remember...supporting other's success won't ever dampen yours.
. Goal 1: Getting Published.
You wrote something. You're a writer. But to become a published writer takes more than getting your thoughts on paper. You better start building your fanbase/readership if you are planning to get published whether trad or indie. In this digital world massive following is now one of the requirements and a factor to your success. That my friend is what you are doing now, by joining read/write site you are now building an empire. By putting your words out there, you are honing your craft. By continuously writing you are perfecting your style and polishing your grammar. Once you get out in the real world, you are ready my friend.
. Goal 2: Getting more readers/followers:
When I started writing, I've joined some read/write sites like Wattpad, Booksie, Autonomy, WriteOn etc. Being involved in these communities widen my audience. I tried to update my stories frequently. The more I write, the more exposure. I've joined books clubs when it was still an a thing on Wattpad. Outside of Wattpad, I've joined several giveaways to kickstart my FB author page. I connected and reached out to other authors. I joined FB groups where I can showcase my works too. It's all about connection rather slapping people with buy links all the time.
