Kabanata 35

Kinamusta ako nina mommy at daddy. Mom cried while talking to me.

"I am okay. No need to worry about me. Parang preso na nga ako dito kay Phoenix." I tried to joke.

She just sighed.

"Next week, andiyan na kami. Haharapin natin sila mama." she said. I just nodded.

Kahit gusto ko mang harapin mag-isa, hindi ko na lang ginawa. They are all worried for me!

Bern:

Andito na si Francine! Nag-away kaming dalawa! Ayun nakatikim ng tatlong beses na sampal sakin!

My jaw dropped. Mabilis naman akong nag reply kay Bern.

Me:

What the hell Bern!

Bern:

Nangigigil ako! Sorry! At isa pa, wala siyang karapatan pagbantaan ako! Baka mauna ko pa siyang mapatay.

I bit my lower lip and shook my head. I need to see Bern.

Me:

You can sleep here if you want. Wag na natin palakihin 'to, Bern.

Bern:

No need. Andito na ako kina Lexa. I will be sleeping here.

And it bothered me. Hindi na ako mapakali sa sinabi ni Bern sa akin.

"Hey... Are you okay?" Phoenix asked when he came out from the bathroom.

"Andito na raw si Francine. Nag-away sila ni Bern." sabi ko. Hindi naman sumagot si Phoenix at lumapit sa akin. Hinawakan niya naman ako at umupo siya sa kama. Iginaya niya naman ako at pinakandong sa kanya.

He put my hair on the back of my ear and kissed me on my cheek. Napangiti naman ako.

"You want to talk to her?" he asked me.

"I want to, Phoenix. But sana dalawa lang kami." umiling naman kaagad si Phoenix.

"Hindi ako papayag, Quiana."

"Nix..."

"No." he  said. "I promised tita Meredith to accompany you if you will talk to the Gil if they are still not here." hinaplos ko naman ang pisngi ni Phoenix.

"Baby..." I called. He shook his head again.

Fine. Next time then and I won't tell him.

It was saturday when Stacey  invited me to go out and have dinner. 

"I'll ask Nix first." sabi ko.

"He will agree, Quiana. Besides, andiyan naman si mommy. Sasama siya." sabi nito.

Tinawagan ko pa rin si Phoenix. I don't like Nix and I argue kasi masakit man aminin- talo ako palagi.

"Okay... Apat lang kayo ni Queen?"

"Yes. Stacey said we will have dinner there. Wala kasi si CJ, may inasikaso sa kanila."

"Susunod kami mamaya sa inyo."

"Okay. I love you."

"I love you too and Queen, baby... Ingat kayo."

Binihisan ko naman si Queen at sobrang excited naman nito.

Stacey drove the car. Na sa front seat naman si tita Paige at na sa likod kami ni Queen na dalawa. Kanina pa ito dumadaldal at maraming gustong gawin.

"Lola! You will buy me some stuffs ba?" Queen said.

"Queen..." I called her.

"Mommy naman. It's my first time going out to the mall!" she said. She is being conyo because of her to titas- Kennedy and Stacey.
