A/N Hey My Lovelies!!!! StiffPansycake requested this one!!! Hope you like it!!! Enjoy<3
Lestrade had been trying to get in touch with John and Sherlock all day. All his attempts had been ignored and he was starting to get concerned. It wasn't uncommon for Sherlock to ignore him, but John always made sure to at least send a cursory text.
Something wasn't right.
He tried again, silently willing Sherlock to answer. He was almost shocked when his friend's voice came over the speaker.
"This is Holmes."
"Sherlock? Hey man, what's up? You haven't been answering my calls."
"Sorry, must have not heard the phone. We have been a little distracted this morning." Greg heard a clattering sound in the background.
"No worries, I just wanted to let you know that we talked to the father, he said Ashlyn wasn't the type to go out partying."
"He's wrong, he just isn't aware of it. Listen, I've got to go. I'm in the middle of something here."
"Yeah, sure. Hey, is everything alright?" The other man hesitated, sending another spark of concern to Greg's gut.
"Yes, everything is fine Greg. I've got to go." The line was disconnected before the DI could say anything.
"Everything is fine Greg." The words echoed through his head as he played with his cell phone, anxiously spinning it in his fingers. Sherlock never got his name right. Never. And he was never that polite on the phone, especially not when Greg interrupted something.
"Everything is fine Greg." Lestrade pulled up the familiar number of Mycroft Holmes. He always hesitated when he called the elder Holmes sibling. He had a bit of a crush on the man and there was no way Mycroft didn't know. He pushed his hesitation aside and dialed.
"Detective Inspector. What can I do for you today?"
"Tell me if this sounds weird; I just talked to Sherlock, and he said, 'everything is fine Greg'."
"Why would that sound weird?"
"He never gets my name right. Like ever."
"Are you certain?"
"Absolutely. I have heard him say it right exactly once before and that was after Eurus. Something is wrong Mycroft."
"I will have someone trace his cell."
"John's too."
"Why John's?"
"He hasn't been answering my calls or texts either."
"Now, if you had lead with that I wouldn't have questioned your concerns. Next time do use that pretty little head of yours a bit more efficiently next time. I will text you what I find."
"T-thanks."
"Anytime Gorgeous." Greg flushed as the line was disconnected, he was always left slightly confused after talking with Mycroft, but now he had to focus.
He had to find John and Sherlock.
"Yes, everything is fine Greg. I've got to go." Sherlock's captor pulled the phone away from his ear, following the action up by smashing the device with the heel of his foot.
Sherlock was tied to a chair in the corner of a very cold room. His wrists and joints ached, and his face hurt where he had received a few hearty blows before his phone started ringing.
