Penny could see her friend, trying to conceal her feelings by listening to music and reading a magazine.
"Violet, there's no point hiding from me." Penny gave her a pitiful smile.
"He's leaving. I wrote about it in my diary like seven times." Violet sniffed.
Penny stroked her friend's soft black hair, saying that everything will be okay.
"You know Violet, it's not too late." Penny smirked.
Violet stared at her friend and asked uneasily, "what do you mean?"
"I mean...you can walk right up to Tony right now and say, 'Tony, it's so upsetting that you're moving, but maybe we can keep in touch.'"
"Me? 'Keep in touch'? If I barely talked to him before he moved, I doubt he thinks I care for him." Violet huffed.
"It's now or never Violet." Penny urged.
Violet sighed, wanting to melt into one of the pages in her magazine.
"I-I'll do it." Violet gulped.
"Woohoo! Go Vi!" Penny cheered.
Violet was walking slowly up to Tony, who was talking to his friends. She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw Riley Andersen.
"Uh oh." Penny stood next to Violet to see what was happening.
"Tony, I heard you're moving! To where? We should keep in touch, I know all about the horrors of new schools." Riley laughed.
"That would be awesome Riley. Here's my number. Hopefully you can give me some tips."
"I'll really miss you. You're cool." Riley punched him in the arm and smiled.
"You too." Tony beamed.
Violet froze in position. Penny took her arm and moved away from them.
"Of course Riley would like him. And of course he'd like her back. I was stupid to think I had a chance." Violet sniffed, turning away.
"Oh Vi...you can at least be his friend." Penny smiled softly.
"It's a bit to late for that Penny! How am I supposed to build a relationship with my shy self in less than twenty four hours!" Violet snapped.
"Fine, fine. Do what you want Violet."
They stayed silent for a moment until they heard a voice.
"Greetings ladies."
"What do you want Wilbur?" Penny rolled her eyes.
"What's wrong with Violet? She looks as sad as the time I-"
"She wants to be alone. Okay?" Penny said.
Wilbur looked from Penny to Violet, then back again.
"Well if Penny's not good enough, you have me." Wilbur laughed.
"Gee, with you for the rest of her life? Dream come true." Penny said sarcastically.
"Fine. I didn't want to tell you what I found out anyway." Wilbur crossed his arms and smirked.
"What is it?" Violet sighed.
"You won't believe what Hiro and I found!"
"Hiro Hamada? That guy who's always behind the sound buttons in rehearsal?" Penny asked.
"That's an excellent question. The answer is yes. That's quite a weird way to remember him though."
"Whatever! Carry on!" Violet urged.
