Jack sat at a table in the frozen yoghurt cafe, observing people who came in, ordered, then left. He chewed his yoghurt, not looking for anyone in particular but still hoping that a certain woman would step into the store and order a frostbite. When Jack had told Hiccup about his date on Saturday, Hiccup had told him that Elsa didn't seem like his type. It made Jack think back to the other women he had dated, and if they had anything in common that Elsa didn't have. What made Jack so attracted to Elsa was her passion. He saw how good she was at drawing and he found it beautiful, how something could inspire her so much to bring something alive on a page.

He shook his head, smiling to himself. He wondered if she could paint. If the excitement inside of her really came to life when you gave her a brush and a canvas. He would ask her on Saturday.

Saturday.

For some reason, Jack didn't think Elsa felt as excited about Saturday as he did. He wanted to take her out to a restaurant at first, then decided that was too formal but he also didn't want to take her to the movies. He wanted to talk to her, and he wanted to make sure she would love it too.

More customers walked into the shop, and these people caught Jack's eye. There were about fifteen children or so, and a curly haired woman walking behind them.

"Did everyone bring their money?" she asked the kids, seeming to do a head count of all fifteen of them. The kids brought out their crumpled five dollar bills and started to look at the flavours of the yoghurts. "Very good. Now, choose what you want then we'll go to the park and eat. I hope you enjoyed the school trip to the art museum, I thought everything there was beautiful, didn't you?"

The kids seemed more interested in the yoghurts but some of them answered, though Jack didn't pay too much attention to them. He had an idea. He knew what he was going to do.

"Astrid! You're a female, maybe you can help."

Astrid raised her brows at her white-haired friend. "I'm very interested to hear where this is going."

"It's about Elsa."

"Boo." Astrid stuck her tongue out and turned back to her homework, tapping her pencil impatiently when she noticed Jack was still standing there. "Can't you see I'm not interested?"

Jack pouted. "Come on, Astrid. Just hear me out."

Astrid sucked in a breath. "You know I'm not biased..."

"But you are."

"Walt Disney College has the worst teams ever! They're all so full of themselves! Have you seen Gaston?"

Jack sat across from her. "You can't group them together like that Astrid."

"There are so many great girls in DreamWorks Academy that really like you Jack." Astrid leaned forward. "I think you know who."

Jack shook his head. "Well, I'm not interested in those girls."

"But this is weird for me!" Astrid tugged on the ends of her braid. "Do you know how many of my friends like you? I can't help you plan your date, that'd be like betraying them!"

"Am I not your friend anymore? I just want you to tell me if it's a good idea!"

Astrid sighed, leaning as far back as she could in her chair. "Fine. What is it?"

Jack's eyes brightened. "Elsa loves to draw. So I'm thinking I can take her to that new art museum not too far from here, then we buy froyo and stroll around he park aimlessly." He paused. "What do you think?"

"Taking her to the museum because she likes art is very thoughtful. The whole aimless part park, I wouldn't like that. I guess I like doing stuff. Like laser tag, love that."

"Thanks Astrid. I don't think Elsa's the laser tag type, but...thanks."

He got up to leave, and Astrid sighed again. She called back to him, and he stopped to look at her.

"I know you like her. And I have no problem with her, but remember—DreamWorks is your home."

A small frown formed and Jack's face. "Astrid, I don't know why you keep saying this what do you think—"

Astrid held her hand up. "You know what I mean. It's bound to happen."

Jack sat back down, clearly frustrated now. "The only time we compete is in sports! I don't understand!"

"Let me explain it in the simplest way possible, Frost," Astrid said, really wanting to get back to her homework. "It's like two friends running for class president. One of them's gotta win, right?"

"That makes no sense. There's no election and besides, it's just an election! What does it matter?" Jack rubbed his hands across his face. "Listen, I get it. This will probably make Elsa quite unpopular around here, but that's their stupid problem to deal with. If it causes so much trouble, I'll just change schools," he grinned.

Astrid's eyes widened. It was hard to tell when Jack was joking sometimes. She hoped the grin meant he was joking. Hiccup would be distraught if Jack left the Academy. "You don't mean that," she scoffed.

Jack shrugged and stood up again. "I'm going to check for tickets to the museum. See you later."

That Frost.

Elsa inhaled deeply. She was going to take Boo's advice and make a list. Pros and cons. Scenarios and outcomes. This list was either going to persuade her or deter her. Elsa picked up her pen and drew a t-chart across the paper.

"Let's start off with some good things," she said. Elsa wrote under the 'Pros' label, he's really nice. That seemed like a pro.

A knock shattered Elsa's thought process and she could already tell who was at her door. "Go away Anna."

Anna opened the door anyway. "We both know at this point that knocking is just a formality. I'm going to come in anyway."

Elsa tried her best to hide the large chart she'd drawn up, but Anna got a glimpse of the title before her arms could cover it up. She rose an eyebrow.

"Really Elsa? 'Pros and Cons About Dating Jack?'. I don't think this is that big of a deal."

Elsa's voice came out small and fragile. "It is to me."

Anna stared at the chart for a moment. "Fine. I'll help you."

"Anna, I really don't think—"

"I'll do Pros because I'm obviously the more positive one out of us two. You'll do Cons."

Elsa didn't argue as Anna picked up a pen and wrote under the pros list, he's cute. Elsa sighed.

"What?" Anna smirked. "You can't deny it."

"I didn't deny anything." Elsa picked up another pen and wrote under cons, he doesn't know who I am.

Anna nodded. "Okay, that is kind of a big con, but you can always tell him."

Elsa shook her head and wrote again. "Once he does though...how will he feel?"

Anna looked at what her sister wrote. How will he feel knowing that if he wants this to go somewhere, he'll have to deal with becoming King? Elsa seemed to be on a roll, and she picked up the pen again. Her hand shook.

"Elsa...don't—"

"Wait," Elsa whispered, her voice barely there. She continued to write.

What if he leaves because he doesn't want to be King and I abdicate the throne just to be with him?

I'm sorry that it's been so long. Thanks for sticking with me if you have. I'm really tired so I actually have a friend helping me with this, they've been so great. ThAnKs GuYs EnJoY mY cRiNgEy WrItInG!
