The first week passed quite quickly for the students, and the following Monday was the trip to Africa. Timon had found planes, even though they weren't that cheap, and he knew the place where they were going to stay.
"We'll camp in the African Savannas!" Timon exclaimed when Pumbaa asked.
"Oh. Won't there be a mosquito problem? No nets?"
Timon stopped to consider Pumbaa's comment. "No, they got tents Pumbaa! Lots of them!"
The trip was tomorrow, and Timon hadn't even started packing. He was too busy trying to rent a jet where the pilot was willing to take Pumbaa's stench. He didn't need much, meerkats usually travelled light. Well, not his great Aunt Belinda, boy did that meerkat know how to pack! Anyway, back to our two teachers.
"Do you think the students will appreciate the trip?"
"Trust me Pumbaa, they'll love it."

Fawn was flying around the room almost like she had a wind talent. Her mind was quite clouded, which was unusual. She didn't know why she didn't want to admit it, but she was a bit worried about Andy. He hadn't really talked to her the entire week.
It was bugging her more than she thought it would, and she didn't like that. Periwinkle, her roommate, watched her in confusion.
"Is everything okay Fawn? You've been packing like your life depends on it."
Fawn watched Peri touch the side of her wall, and a burst of ice patterns curled around the spot she had touched. She paused, letting her wings rest, and wiped away her hair from her eyes.
"Yeah. I'm fine. My wings just really wanted to let off some energy. I haven't been packing for too long have I?"
Fawn glanced at the clock. A few minutes past noon. She had started at eleven.
"An hour? Doing what? I don't even feel like I—"
Fawn turned around to look at her suitcase. It was overflowing with clothes she hadn't worn in ages and worthless books and things she didn't need. She saw Periwinkle smile in the corner of her eye.
"That's what I mean. You literally pulled everything out of your closet. I was just waiting to see how far you'd go before you realize."
She laughed and released another ball of frost from her hands, and it rained down on her side of the room. Fawn was always amazed by Periwinkle and her talent.
"Well...I have been distracted," Fawn started to say, pulling out the unnecessary things she had stuffed in the suitcase. "But I wasn't aware he'd be this...distracting."
Periwinkle's wings perked up and she hovered over to Fawn. "He?"
Fawn rolled her eyes. Periwinkle was a helpless romantic. She'd ship everything and anything together. Fawn could already see her jumping to conclusions.
"Is it that Andy guy you keep talking to? He's pretty cute. But you guys haven't really talked in a while."
It almost pained Fawn to hear it out loud. She knew her talking didn't help out. What other reason would Andy have to avoid her?
"Yeah...we haven't."
Periwinkle seemed to notice Fawn tense up. She frowned.
"Do you know why?" she asked.
"Probably because when I talk I go on and on and on—"
Periwinkle interrupted, "what if something happened to him and he doesn't want to open up because nobody's asked?"
