Chapter 43

Honey Lemon was breaking slowly. Gogo was incredibly worried about her, and felt so helpless. Honey didn't know why she was taking it so hard. Hiro was getting better each day, and Andy was getting stronger, with that fairy friend of his helping. Honey knew Gogo wanted to help, but she didn't want Gogo's help.

Honey picked up her phone and dialed Tadashi's number. She knew he wouldn't answer, but she liked to hear his voice.

"Hello! You've reached Tadashi Hamada's phone. I can not answer right now, but call me back in a bit, or leave a message at the tone! So, yeah, bye!"

Honey lay on the floor, silently sobbing to herself. She shouldn't be grieving this badly. It was crazy. She shook her head, tears still flowing, and got up.

"I won't mourn him anymore," she said quietly. "It's time for me to move on."

Wilbur, Penny, Violet, and Hiro sat in the common room, nobody saying anything.

"Violet, why did you call this meeting if we were just going to sit down and not talk?" Wilbur asked.

Violet rolled her eyes. "I was getting to that, I was just thinking of how I was going to tell you guys, that's all."

"Tell us what?" Hiro said.

Penny arched her eyebrow. Violet would usually talk about things with her privately, instead of telling her along with other people.

"I...erm, it's kinda hard to explain."

"We have time. It's Saturday, not to mention mid-break," Wilbur said.

"My family, it's—we're—complicated..."

"Are you moving?" Penny asked.

"No!" Violet took a deep breath. "My family is not normal."

That's when Penny caught on. She was trying to tell the guys about her super powers.

"My family isn't normal either, go figure." Wilbur laughed.

"I mean we all have superpowers!" Violet blurted.

Everyone was silent for a moment. Until Hiro started laughing.

"That's funny Violet! You had me worried there for a second!"

"Oh no, Hiro, she's telling the truth! She told me earlier on in the year!" Penny said.

Hiro stopped laughing and looked at Penny, trying to decide if she was crazy or not.

Violet's head turned invisible, and Hiro scooted back in his chair.

"That is SO. COOL." Wilbur's mouth was wide with awe.

"Please guys, you can't tell anyone about this," Violet said, reappearing.

"How could I? Nobody would believe me. They'd think I'm crazy." Hiro shook his head and got up slowly got up.

"Hiro...," Penny said quietly.

Violet's head slowly disappeared again, and even though Wilbur had seen it before, his jaw still dropped.

"And you've known about this all along?" Wilbur exclaimed, looking at Penny.

Penny nodded, still looking at Hiro for a reaction as Violet reappeared.

"Wow...I mean, Violet you were cool before but now...you're amazing!"

"Uh...thanks, Wilbur."

Violet felt her face heat up and quickly disappeared again.

"Hiro, are you okay?" Penny asked.

Penny reached out to touch his arm, but Hiro slowly pulled back.

"This...it just goes against everything I've learnt as a scientist. I mean, Principal Mickey, he's —I guess he's a talking mouse—but, were you...born with these powers? Or did you learn it? That'd make a lot more sense."

"I...uh, I was kinda born with them," Violet mumbled.

Hiro's face twisted up in confusion. He didn't know how to react. He didn't just want to walk out on Violet, he didn't feel like he had the right to. After all, she had chosen to share this secret with him, he should be honoured.

"Can I...take a walk? Or something?" Hiro asked.

Violet sighed and sunk into a chair. "Sure, go ahead. I'll be here, I guess."

Penny looked at Violet, and they did those weird best friend things when they knew what the other person was thinking without them saying anything.

Penny followed Hiro, and Wilbur stayed in the common room with Violet.

"Your life must be really interesting."

"Not that interesting. And just letting you know, Eilonwy is the only other person that knows."

"How does she know? I didn't realize you two were that close."

"She...read my diary. She found out everything!" Violet groaned, remembering the anger she had felt.

"Ooh, any gossip? Like crushes, or hit lists? Or—"

"Why would I tell you any of that stuff anyway?" Violet laughed.

"Because you love me." Wilbur smirked.

"Hiro, wait up!" Penny yelled out.

Hiro knew that Penny had followed him, and had started running.

Hiro turned around slowly. "What do you want Penny?"

"What's your problem? She's still Violet. Just add powers to the mix," she said.

Hiro sighed and pressed his back against a locker.

"I know that...but it's still a lot to take in. Was it not a shock to you when she told you?"

Penny shrugged. "I guess. I kinda just kept thinking about how cool it was that I had landed a best friend with superpowers."

"If I thought the way you did Penny, life would be much easier," Hiro said.

Penny shook her head. "Hiro, it's just what I say. What I think is sometimes very, very, different. But you know I'm always here Hiro, right?"

"Of course. Thanks Penny." Hiro smiled.

He and Penny walked back to the common room and opened the door. Violet was sitting silently, and Wilbur was still murmuring about how he wished he was born with superpowers.

"So...superpowers...I can get into that." Hiro smiled.

Violet smiled back, and pulled him and Penny in for a hug.

"Hey guys! What about moi?" Wilbur said, joining in.

For the first time in forever, Violet felt like she actually had more than just Penny to lean on for support. She had friends. As in, plural. She finally had a group where she fit in.

"When do we strike? I'm getting bored," Hades whined.

"We go, when we go." Maleficent hissed.

Rasputin stared at the mirror. He knew where his glass wand was, it was in a little girl's dorm. Not where it was meant to be, but could work, nevertheless.

It was a ticking time bomb. Penny didn't know, but if she didn't destroy it soon, the wand will destroy the college—the earth, as she knew it.

"I say we wait until Africa. They'll be spread apart."

"That's only sixteen students Gothel. No difference at all." Scar scoffed.

"I still say we strike after Africa. Let them enjoy their time while they have it..."
