"how embarrassing," joy muttered to herself, her warm tears still tainting her flushed cheeks.
she groaned in dreadful lament only to shed more tears from her glossy eyes. seemingly unable to stop her desperate cries of comfort, she silently weeped in regret all the way back home.
dazed, joy entered her family's residence with her eyes bloodshot red and cheeks stained with dried tears.
"oh, joy-ah!" her older brother called when he noticed her presence in the household. he jogged to approach her but instantly halted into a stop when he saw her in such an awful state of misery. jimin frowned, somehow reckoning the reason behind his sister's melancholy.
"sooyoung, are you okay?" jimin mentally cursed at himself for his stupid question.
joy glanced up at him and weakly smiled. a single tear fell, followed by another and more.
"of course i'm not okay..."
