How can you divert your attention to somewhere else when your mind keeps telling you to just look ahead and savor the pain?

Samantha didn't know her mind could be this stubborn. She could just make an excuse and save herself from the hurt. Maiintindihan naman sya nina Scarlet.

Really. They'll understand her completely. Sino bang hindi makakaintindi ng sitwasyon kung simula ng mag-umpisa ang party, Felix and Queenie is nothing but sweet?

Her heart has been squeezing so hard all this time. Their mere existence combined is torture enough. Their mere existence combined is torture enough. But even if she look somewhere else, if she could clearly hear them laugh or even hear them talk, then it's no good. She just find it amazing that she can stop herself from crying for this long. At least her brain spared her from that kind of humiliation.

Queenie is the only one who doesn't get the situation. She doesn't know anything about Samantha and Felix having a thing anyway.

Scarlet, together with Zayn, are now out of the table. Nakikipag usap ang mga ito sa mga bisita. So the people left around the table was Queenie, Felix, Amethyst, Archie, Alessandra, Romeo, and Samantha.

Beside Felix is two vacant seats belonging to Scarlet and Zayn. On his right is where Queenie's sitting. On the other side of Queenie is one vacant seat which was also beside Samantha.

"I thought your mom will give me the cold shoulder." Felix looked at Queenie with confusion on his face. "I'm glad she welcomed me."

"Of course she did. What made you think she wouldn't?"

Queenie shrugged, feeling a little bit down as she remembered the first time she came as a guest to their house. "I don't know. It's been a while since the last time she saw me. Akala ko nga, hindi na nya ako maaalala."

Felix held Queenie's hand and squeezed it with gentleness. "That's impossible," said Felix with a smile. "You're hard to forget."

And that lifted her spirits up.

When Felix looked ahead, she saw Samantha looking at him. He suddenly felt guilty.

Especially when Samantha faked a smile at him when she was obviously trying to stop herself from crying.

Amethyst noticed the pained expression on Samantha's face. She could also tell she's on the edge of crying.

Hate.

Sadness.

Anger.

Guilt.

Amethyst sighed. "What's up with you? Hurting the both of you like that," she asked Felix mentally. Shooking her head, she turn her head to Archie.

"Tabihan ko lang si Sam saglit. Okay lang?"

With a straight face, Archie slightly nodded.
Amethyst stood up and walked towards Romeo. She gave him a tap on the shoulder. Nilingon sya ng binata.

"Palit tayo saglit ng upuan?" Amethyst whispered to which Romeo answered with a vigorous nod. Tumayo ito at pinaghila sya ng upuan.

"Sam?" Nilingon sya ng dalaga. And for a moment, she saw the relief in her eyes upon seeing her. "Are you still okay?"
