Invitation

"If you're still going to invite Queenie, then I'll have to invite Romeo, too. Deal with it."

Felix sighed as he remembers what Amethyst told him before she went to her own room that night. He can't believe that Amethyst could be this stubborn.

He already told her that he's hurting, too. It wasn't even that easy. Basta na lang niya nilunok ang pride nya at inaming nasasaktan na rin sya.

But Amethyst added fuel to the fire. She's not only going to invite Samantha. Pati si Romeo, iimbitahan din nya. She's really trying my patience.

"Felix." Nagising ang diwa ni Felix sa pagtawag sa kanya ni Queenie. "Kanina pa kita tinatawag. I was asking you if you'll have your lunch here."

It's already Saturday and he couldn't even mention the party to Queenie. He have too much on his plate right now that he just don't know where to start. Good thing that classes are already over. It's one less on his stress.

"Uh. No. Sa bahay na lang."

"Oh," he could sense the disappointment in her eyes. He suddenly felt guilty. "That's okay. Maybe next time?"

"That would be great."

"Kailan?"

"How about tomorrow?" He asked right away.

Agad nagliwanag ang mukha ni Queenie sa sinabi ng binata. Ngumiti ito at tumango-tango. "Sure! What do you want me to cook?"

"You don't have to."

"But I want to," she said, pouting. He can't help but smile to the gesture.

"Really. You don't have to. I was thinking of inviting you to the house."

Biglang natigilan si Queenie. Hindi nya alam kung sa isip lang ba nya ito pero may pakiramdam kasi syang hindi sya welcome sa pamamahay na iyon. She came there once. She was with Renzo. They were supposed to do a trio-study but she felt so unwelcome. So she made an excuse and went home.

"Bakit sa inyo pa? Pwede namang dito na lang sa condo ko."

"Well, my Mom wants to celebrate the success of the company's expansion. So she'll be hosting a party at the house. It's just seated dinner party."

"You're inviting me to attend? Is that even okay with them?"

"Yeah. I already told my family that I'll invite you. Besides, I need a date."

Napangiti si Queenie. "So you'll bring me as your date?"

"Yeah." He smiled. "Is it okay?"

Lalong lumapad ang ngiti sa labi ni Queenie. She nodded then said, "Okay. I'll be your date."

"Party?" Asked Alessandra to which was answered with a nod from Amethyst. "Sinu-sino pang iimbitahan mo?"

"Samantha and Romeo. I already invited Archie. Sabi nya pupunta sya."

It's Saturday noon and Amethyst invited the gang to hang out at the mall. It was a miracle that Alessandra was on time. At least she's not alone. Busy kasi si Archie sa summer job nito kaya hindi ito makakasama. Pero sasaglit daw ito sa oras ng break nya na sya namang hindi na nila inaasahan dahil malayo ang mall sa mismong lugar kung saan ito nagtatrabaho. He'll only be caught on traffic. Kain oras pa.

"Sigurado kang iimbitahan mo sila? Lalo na si Samantha. For sure, your brother will be there."

Amethyst sighed. She already talked to Felix but he's as hard as a rock on his decision. Mahirap na nga iyong nandon sya. Iimbitahan pa nya si Queenie. Just what is he thinking anyway?
