"And done," I said after finishing off my makeup with a setting spray. "What do we think?" I showed Stella my look. She is currently talking to me on Facetime.
"You look so beautiful!" Stella said, seeing how I look. "And your hair, OMG!" She gasped.
I straightened my wavy brown hair and added fake white highlights to it. I also stuck little pearls to it to match the mermaid gown I had on.
"I think you just put Ariel to shame," Stella said and I chuckled.
"Your turn now," I said, wanting her to open her camera and show me her look.
"I can't show you just yet," she replied.
I rolled my eyes. "I won't tell anyone about your fairy godmother, and how you're about to arrive in a pumpkin carriage, CinderStella," I teased.
She laughed. "You're still on that promposal thing, huh?"
"Just the trumpet sound got me on the edge of my seat but a real horse?! Girl, if he asked me to marry him, I would have said yes right away," I answered.
"Oh, don't you dare," she threatened.
I raised my hands in defeat. "All yours, babe."
She chuckled. "I'll see you later, Little Mermaid," she said. "Oh, or Gabriela." She giggled.
"I await your arrival, CinderStella," I replied with a curtsy.
We both laughed before ending the call.
I looked at myself in the mirror once again. I saw a strand of hair out of place so I grabbed the hair spray and sprayed it on my hair. After making sure everything was in place, I grabbed my phone and placed it inside my purse.
I then exited my room and went downstairs. I saw my mom sitting on the couch and working on her laptop. She heard me going down the stairs. She held her mouth when she saw me. She stood from the couch and walked towards me.
"Who are you and what did you do to my daughter?" Mom said, and I laughed. "You look so wonderful, my love."
"Thanks, Mom."
She held my hand and smiled at me. I smiled at her as well.
"Now, before Gabriel gets here we have to set some ground rules, okay?" she said before letting go of my hand. I nodded in response.
"First, I don't want you coming home drunk," she started.
"I'm not in the mood to drink too, Mom. I'll ruin this look if I get drunk enough," I answered.
"Good girl," she said. "Second, if you want to hook up with your boyfriend, make sure-"
"MOM!" I exclaimed. "Are you kidding me right now?"
"I'm just reminding you. We don't want you getting pregnant early. You still have a lot ahead of you," she replied.
"Mom, I stand by my word, okay? I promised Dad that I would only do 'it' once I got married. I'm trying to follow in your footsteps," I reminded. "Can we please stop talking about this?" I asked and she laughed.
"Alright, alright, I trust you." She raised her arms in surrender. "Oh, and last rule, enjoy and have fun, okay?"
"Yes, Mom, I will," I answered.
We heard the doorbell ring. "I'll get it," I said before walking towards the door.
When I opened it, I saw Gabriel on the porch, looking back at me. He was whispering something to himself that I could not hear.
