"Good morning, Mom!" I greeted when I entered the kitchen and saw my mom cleaning the countertop.

"Good morning, baby. You woke up early."

"I got used to it. I open my boutique at 9 am so I wake up at 6 am to get ready even if I slept really, really late, " I said while walking over to the stools in the kitchen. She nodded and continued doing what she was doing. My eyes roamed around the kitchen. It's still the same kitchen I left six years ago. "How I missed this house, " I whispered.

"This house misses you too, " my mom replied. I looked at her.

"I'm sorry if I left you here alone, mom. It's just I can't bring myself to come back after–"

"I know, honey. No need to explain. I'm fine by myself. I've got time to think and reflect. I'm also not completely alone because I visit you all the time in New York and your uncle and his family visit all the time."

"They do?"

"Yep. They visit to give me tasks about co-managing the airline, but most of the time, they visit so I'll have company."

"Do you enter your office now?"

"No. I have a household to manage, baby. I just asked for a job from your uncle because I can't let you starve when your father died but being the heiress of one of the biggest airline company in North America was a job I gave up when I married your father. Your uncle was happy to take my place anyway and he was nice enough to give me a spot in the company when we had nothing left and I'm grateful that the spot he gave me was something I can work on while I'm at home, taking care of you."

"I love you, mom."

"Love you too, baby. Can I still call you that though? I mean, you're already twenty-four."

"I'll always be your little baby, mommy, " I said and we both giggled.

"Gosh! You really are my daughter. We're both dramatic, " she said and I chuckled. "What do you want for breakfast?"

"Oh, I won't be eating here. Bianca wanted us to meet for her wedding and she offered brunch so I'm saving my appetite for later, " I said and she nodded.

"You can use my car, by the way, " she shrugged.

"Thanks, mom. I'll just unpack and get ready."

"Alright, " she said and I hugged her. She seemed shocked by my gesture but eventually, she hugged back.

"Sorry. I just missed you, " I said before getting out of her embrace and walking up the stairs.

"She's so sweet and if you could only see what she and Ryan looked like when I saw them together. I'm sure she'll be the perfect mother to our children and she's just so perfect, " Christian said. I am now talking to him on the phone. Mary was the one who actually wanted to talk to me but she gave the phone to Christian because Ryan caused some trouble in her apartment while I'm talking to her and now I'm talking to this love crazy lunatic.

I just got to the diner that Bianca texted me. I am just waiting for Christian to hang up before I enter.

"Hey, Christian. There's something I have to tell you, " I said with a tone that I always use when I wanna tell a person some gossip.

"What is it?"

"F*CK OFF!" I yelled and I heard him curse in shock on the other line.
