CAM POV ••

"Kids, everybody up! We're not going to be sleeping in all summer!" Anna yelled through the hallway.

I lazily rolled out of bed and walked into the kitchen.

"Good morning, Camille." She said when she saw me.

"Morning. Busy day today, isn't it." I said.

"Oh yes. It will be worth it though, sitting by the fire with all of our closest friends." She told me. Oh, she has no idea.

Soon, the little ones came in, followed by Ross. That was certainly an awkward moment. He flashed me an apologetic smile.

"After everyone is done eating, Brody and Bella, you guys clean the dog up. Give him a nice bath. And for you two," Anna looked at Ross and I. "You both are going to the store. I have a list of things you need to pick up."

Ugh, just what I needed. To spend more time with Ross.

We all did as she said. I met Ross outside in his truck once I was all ready, list in hand. He pulled out of the driveway without saying anything.

"Look, i'm really sorry about last night. I saw nothing, promise. It was dark." He said, still looking at the road.

I looked over to him, the first time I got a good look at him today. He was wearing sweatpants and a tshirt but still looked good. His hair was a bit messed up, in a sexy way.

"No, don't worry about it. Not like I was naked or something." I laughed, trying to shrug it off.

"For now on, i'll warn you before coming in. I know I kind of have a habit of invading your privacy." He sighed. I laughed.

Once we got to the store, I read off the list as we walked through the aisles.

"Hotdogs, hotdog buns, graham crackers, chocolate bars, marshmallows, glow sticks, sodas, paper plates. Seems easy enough." I said.

"Jumbo or regular marshmallows?" He asked, holding up two boxes.

"Go big or go home." I laughed.

When we were at the checkout line, Ross handed the lady the money that Anna gave him.

"Have a nice day!"

We carried the bags to the truck and got in.

"I'm really excited for tonight. The family cookouts are always fun. Summer is fun with Anna, she knows how to keep it eventful." He said.

"I'm so nervous to meet everyone. What if they don't like me?" I said.

"Believe me, they will love you." He put a hand on my knee. "And they aren't anything to worry about, anyways. Just some family and neighbors, nobody to impress."

"You make it sound like nothing. Weren't you nervous the first time?" I asked.

"Extremely. Especially because the first day I came here, they were in the middle of a cookout." He laughed.

"Way to crash a party, Ross." I looked out the window. "Woah, what's over there?"

"That's the old barn that they turned into a restaurant. It's really nice but also really expensive." He said.

"Hmm. It looks so cool." I said.

When we got home, it was already 1pm.

"Finally. Put those things out in the sun room for now, I think we're all done!" Anna said. "In the meantime, who wants to ride the horses?"

"Me!" Both Bella and Brody said at the same time.

"I've never rode a horse." I confessed.

"I can teach you, it's really fun! I know you'll love it." Anna said.
