•day of the party•
I woke up extra early to make surprise breakfast for everyone. I made pancakes, french toast, eggs and sausage. When Anna woke up to the sound of the kids running in, she sure was shocked.
"Oh my! You're making breakfast?" Anna asked me.
"Yeah! Tomorrow is your birthday! I thought I should do something nice. Now sit down, i'll serve you guys. Ross! Breakfast!" I yelled like Anna. She laughed and Ross came running in.
I gave everyone one of each and sat down to eat myself.
"This was really sweet, thanks Camille." Anna said.
"Your pancakes aren't as sucky as I expected." Ross joked.
"And since i'm Anna for the morning, mind taking a shower? You need one." I joked back.
"Well played. Anna, please be boss again?" Ross said as everyone laughed.
"So I was thinking, maybe you could take Bella and Brody on a horse ride tonight while Cam and I make everyone some dinner. You can relax." Ross said to Anna. This was our plan to get her out of the house while everyone else showed up.
"Really? If you guys wouldn't mind that would be great! I'm excited to see how good of a cook you each actually are." Anna smiled.
"Oh, you won't be disappointed." I assured her.
Later that day, it was 4pm.
"Okay, we will be back in about an hour or so. Have fun, don't burn the house down!" Anna called as she walked out to the barn with Bella and Brody. I closed the door and went back inside.
I went into the living room and sat on the couch. I didn't even think about how awkward this was going to be, just Ross and I alone.
"Hey so I found a few movies in my room. You wanna watch them tonight after the party?" Ross asked, walking in and sitting beside me.
"Sure. Anything good?" I asked, turning to face him.
"Only the best. All of the Rambo movies!" Ross exclaimed.
"Rambo...?" I asked.
"Don't tell me you've never seen Rambo." He asked. I shook my head. "They are amazing! Sylvester Salone? Come on! Well you have to stay up for all of them. You will love them."
"Why are you so sure? I like horror films more than... Rambo whatever." I told him.
"Okay, tomorrow night it is then. I will find some horror movies for us to watch." He smiled.
"It's a date." I assured. His face went blank as he blushed.
Oh crap. I didn't mean it like that. I meant, you know, like i'll be there? Oh gosh.
"Oh I didn't- I meant-" I started.
"No I get it." He laughed it off.
"It's 4:10 already. We should make the cake. You preheated the oven didn't you?" I asked, walking to the kitchen.
"Yeah. Now we just have to mix and pour." Ross said, following me.
"I'll do this, you start getting the rest of the food out back on the picnic table." I told him. He did as I said and I started mixing the cake.
