Wednesday afternoon, study hall.
"I hear there's a huge group project coming up again in History. We should all work together, and Callie." Becca said to us. It was me, Tyler, Ross, and her.
"Okay, sure. Hey, does anyone have the math homework answers from today? I told him I would get it to him by the end of the day but I haven't had time to do it." Ross said.
"Here, you can copy mine." Tyler handed Ross his homework. Ross hurriedly copied it down.
"Thanks man, i'll be back." Ross said and left the room.
"Have you told him that we are together?" Tyler asked.
"Well, yeah." I lied.
"Good. Because I would feel bad if he didn't know." Tyler told me.
"Aren't you two really close?" I asked.
"Yeah. He is probably my best friend." Tyler said.
Ross came back into the room and sat down beside me.
"I turned it in. Now let's hope for the best." Ross said.
"If you fail, you can't play football." Becca reminded him.
"Yes, thanks for reminding me." Ross said sarcastically.
"The bell is getting ready to ring. Can we talk outside Camille?" Tyler asked, standing up.
"Sure. Ross, pick Brody up and then i'll meet you outside." I told Ross, then walked outside with Tyler.
"Sorry to keep bringing this up, but I feel like we don't hang out enough to be boyfriend and girlfriend. That's what we are... right?" Tyler asked.
"Of course! I'm really sorry, yesterday Bella had to be sent to the hospital. So I spent the most of my day making dinner and cleaning around the house and getting Brody ready and staying at the hospital. I promise once everything is back to normal we can actually hang out a lot more." I said. The bell rang.
"Promise? Because although I haven't known you long, I really like you." Tyler said, grabbing both of my hands.
"I promise." I said.
"So we can hang out at the football game this Friday?" Tyler asked.
"Actually... I don't know if i'm going yet." I told him.
"Yeah, I understand. Well you probably need to get going, i'll talk to you later." Tyler said. We both started walking to the parking lot. I headed towards Ross' truck.
"Yeah, text me!" I said, walking away from him and joining Ross and Brody.
"What did he want?" Ross asked once I was in the truck.
"I'll have to tell you later." I said, because Brody was sitting there. I was actually going to tell Ross about me dating Tyler. He deserves to know and find out from me, not someone else.
"We are going to drop you off at Cathy's again, okay bud? You will be there earlier though. We already have you a bag packed." Ross told Brody.
"What about Bella?" Brody asked.
"She's getting better. You are just going to have a sleepover with Cathy tonight. She said she had fun last night." I convinced him. Eventually he agreed.
"So, what did Tyler want? You said you would tell me later. Actually, I have some good news to tell you, too." Ross said once we got to the house. Brody was already dropped off.
"You go first." I said.
"Okay... it's official. I dumped Aubrey for good this time. We are completely over. So that means you and I can be together!" Ross said. He came up and put his hands on my waist. I felt my chest tighten, then fall. He had a huge smile on his face, which then faded. "What, isn't it great? Or even good news?"
