"Sorry to wake you so early but- oh. Good morning... Ross." Anna said, staring at us. She looked like she had been crying.
"She had a bad dream. I came in to comfort her and fell asleep." Ross said, scratching his head.
"Nice attempt for an excuse. I don't care if you sleep in the same bed but if you do anything more, do it somewhere that isn't under my roof. Anyways, we have more important things to talk about." Anna said. I was so embarrassed I could barely pay attention. "You guys will stay home from school today, i'll write you an excuse later. I'm only doing this because I have to work. Ross, drop Bella and Brody off at school. Then you guys need to pack up all of their stuff."
"Wait, why are we doing this?" Ross asked.
"Unfortunately, Bella and Brody have to leave tonight." Anna said.
"Leave? Why?" I asked.
"There is someone who wants to adopt them. Plus, they want me to take a baby. Two months old. So here's some money, I'll text you a list of things we need. Now i'm going to be late for work, good bye." Anna said and handed Ross 200$. With that, she just left.
"I can't believe this. They're gonna be gone." I said.
"We should probably be used to losing people by now." Ross sighed and laid back down.
"I guess it's good that they're getting adopted. Or at least I hope it works out." I said and laid back down too.
How was I supposed to sleep now? Bella and Brody were going to be gone tonight. Sure, they're getting adopted and they're just two annoying little kids but i'm going to miss them.
A while later, I felt Ross get up. He told the kids that I was sick. Then his truck pulled away.
While he was gone, I started picking out clothes and getting dressed for today. I wore a really cute and soft sweater that Anna bought me and some leggings. When Ross got back, he came into my room and went back to bed.
"Ross, we need to go shopping now. Anna sent me a list." I said. He groaned into the pillow. "Come on." I grabbed his hand and tried pulling him up. That really backfired because he jerked me onto the bed and wrapped his arm around me without lifting his face from the pillow. After a second, he looked up.
"Wow, that is a really soft sweater." Ross said, petting my arm.
"Yes, now come on." I pulled his arm. He gave in and got up.
"Fine, I'll get dressed." Ross said, walking to his room.
I went to Bella and Brody's room and started putting their clothes in boxes. Anna always had a few empty boxes laying around just in case. I only got one box full before Ross was ready to leave.
We got into the truck and Ross started driving.
"Anna said we can find everything at Walmart." I told him.
"Walmart it is. Hey, why do you always sit over there? You should sit in the middle." Ross said.
"Do you just want to pet my sweater?" I asked with a smile.
"Well, maybe." He laughed. I scooted over to the middle seat and held his free hand. He always drove with one hand.
"You know what we should do?" I asked.
"I'm pretty sure I already know what you're going to say." Ross told me.
"Really now? Then what is it?" I asked.
"You want to stop and get a pumpkin spice latte." He said.
"Yep. So can we?" I asked.
"Of course. After we get everything else." Ross said.
