I woke up earlier than everyone else the next morning. I walked down to the dock and watched the sunrise. I knew we were going to leave early because Anna had work today, I just wanted to get an early start. Plus, I couldn't sleep.
I was up all night with thoughts running through my head.
Around 8am, everyone was up and packing everything. I walked up to them all.
"You missed it. The sunrise was great." I said to them all.
"I was too tired. I'll take your word for it though." Anna laughed. "We are going to have to get breakfast at home. It's not too far, but let's get packing."
We packed what little was left and got into the car. Before it was even 10am, we were home.
"I didn't get much sleep, mind if I go lay down?" I asked Anna once we were all inside.
"Yeah, I think we could all use a good nap. Bella, Brody, you guys can watch a movie or take a nap too." Anna said.
We all parted to our own rooms. I was just getting cuddled up under my covers when I heard Ross come into my room. I acted like I didn't even hear.
"Cam? Let's watch a movie downstairs." Ross said, sitting at the foot of my bed.
"I wanna nap." I groaned without opening my eyes.
"Then nap with me while I watch a movie." He said. Well there was an offer I couldn't resist.
"Fine." I got up, still wrapped in my blanket, and followed him down to the basement. He already had the movie ready.
"This is a really good one." He told me, sitting on the couch beside me.
"Good, you can enjoy it while I sleep." I said. I slumped down onto the couch and watched maybe five minutes of the movie before I fell asleep.
I woke up to a loud part of the movie and looked to Ross. He was sleeping yet still sitting up. I crawled over and used his lap as a pillow and quickly fell asleep once again.
Around dinner time, Anna made lasagna for a late dinner. It was already 7pm. Let me tell you, it was the best lasagna in the world.
"This was so good Anna. The best." I told her after dinner, helping her clean up.
"Thank you! It was my mothers recipe." She smiled.
"I'll go help Bella and Brody shower then get them to bed. I can tell that you're tired." I said.
"Thank you. You're a big help around here." Anna patted my back.
"I try." I laughed and walked into the kids' room.
"Pick out some clean clothes and meet me in the bathroom for your bath." I told them. They were both overly excited that I was helping them today.
I cleaned them all up, dried their hair and sent them to bed after reading a short bedtime story.
"Goodnight. I'll see you in the morning." I said, leaving their room.
I went to my own room, too energized to go to sleep. I went and took a shower myself then went back to my room. It was 10pm and I couldn't sleep, I was sure everyone else was asleep too.
"Ross, are you up?" I whispered at the curtain. He never let anyone in his room.
He didn't reply but jerked back the curtain.
"I was about to ask you the same thing." Ross said, stepping into my room.
"Wanna drive around or something? I can't sleep." I told him.
"Sure. Let's go." He grabbed his truck keys and jumped out my already open window. I followed and made it out much smoother this time.
We got into his truck and he started driving.
"Where do you wanna go?" I asked.
"If you just wanna drive around we can, but I know a place that has a great view at night." Ross told me.
"Let's go then." I told him. I could see he was looking at me from the corner of my eye.
I tried to ignore it. We drove for a few more minutes in silence with the windows down.
"Here it is." He pulled over and got out, I followed him.
He grabbed my hand and we walked through a small opening of trees. We were at the top of a hill it looked like.
Once we got all the way to the top, I could see the entire city. We lived at least an hour away from the city but after a little bit of driving, it seemed like it was so much closer. I could see forever.
Ross got a blanket and spread it out into the ground.
"This is beautiful." I breathed out. I got down on my back and stared at the sky. Ross got down beside me.
"You're beautiful." He said. I looked over and noticed me was looking at me.
"Why don't you look at the view? It's so much prettier." I laughed, yet he was being serious.
"You are the view." He said. I sat up and looked out at the city. Ross grabbed onto my waist and pulled me back down on top of him.
He stared at my lips as I leaned into him, not being able to stand it anymore. We started making out, I laid on top of him.
Before I knew it, his hands were roaming my body and we soon were both shirtless. He rolled over so he was now on top of me and deepened the kiss.
Ross started unbuckling my pants and I froze, which made him freeze too.
"Stop... I- I can't." I pulled away and pushed him off of me. I pulled my shirt over my head and stared at the ground.
"I'm so sorry Cam, this is all my fault." Ross said apologetically. "I know you don't want to."
I was speechless. I could barely get words out. I wish he knew about my last boyfriend so it didn't seem like I hated him...
"No... its not that. Can we go home?" I asked quietly. There was a short pause.
"Of course. Here." Ross got up and held his hand out to me. I got up on my own and ignored his hand, walking to the truck as he gathered the blanket and his shirt. He met me in the truck about a minute later and just sat there, staring at the road instead of starting it.
"Did I do something wrong?" Ross asked me.
"No, you didn't do anything wrong. It's just- I just- I'll explain another day." I said.
Without another word, Ross started the truck and drove home in silence.
Once we pulled in through the driveway, he helped me up through the window and then pulled himself up.
He walked straight to his room, didn't even say goodnight.
