It was the following Friday. Anna, Becca and I were all home. Ross was at his football game. We were sitting on the couch watching tv.

"We should have a girls night." Anna said.

"What would we do? We have to watch Julia." I said.

"Let's get our nails done! Mine are looking bad. I really want acrylics." Becca said.

"We could get coffee. There's this new book store I want to check out. It's only 4pm." Anna said. "Plus, we could just take Julia to Cathy's house until we get home."

"Let's do it! I'll get dressed into some nicer clothes." I got up and walked to my room. I changed into a cute flannel and some jeans. Then I fishtail braided my hair to the side and pulled on it to make it looser. I grabbed some money and shoved it in my pocket.

When I went back to the living room, they were both waiting on me. We got into Anna's car and drove to Cathy's house.

"I'll take her inside." Anna said. She got out and took Julia inside. We waited and waited until Anna finally came out 15 minutes later.

"I was beginning to think you forgot about us." I laughed as she got into the car.

"You know Cathy. She's a talker." Anna said. She pulled out.

"So where to first?" Becca asked from the back seat.

"Let's get our nails done first, it's the closest." Anna said.

"Yay!" Becca cheered.

"I've never gotten my nails done." I confessed.

"Seriously! Oh my gosh, it's amazing. Great nails makes a great life." Becca said.

"She's not lying." Anna agreed.

"So do they just... paint them?" I asked.

"Well they can. Or you can get press on nails, or acrylic. The options are endless." Becca said.

"What's acrylic?" I asked.

"It's that powder that turns to liquid, you can choose your length and shape. I think acrylic is the best." Becca told me.

"I'm getting acrylic too." Anna said.

"Well I guess i'm getting it to. What colors are there?" I asked.

"Literally any. You have a color in mind?" Becca asked. I shook my head. "Well they have a bunch you can choose from."

When e arrived to the nail salon, there wasn't a line. They said they were closing soon and this is their pretty slow hour. Before long they had me picking out a color.

"Uh... can I have a dark maroon color?" I asked. They pulled out one to show me. "Yeah this one."

"Okay, right this way." The lady sat me at a table beside Becca and Anna and started on my nails. She complimented my natural nails very many times.

She cleaned up my nails before putting the acrylic on. Once she did, I was scared to move my hand at all. It took about 30 minutes all together, then we were done.

"I'll pay for yours." Anna said to us.

"Are you sure? You don't have to. We both have money." I insisted.

"You both help me out a lot, it's okay. How about you two get in line next door at the ice cream shop? I'll be right over." Anna said. We agreed and walked over.

"Anna is so nice. I'm in love with my nails." Becca said. She had a light blue color.

"I feel like I can't do anything." I told her.
