The next morning I was greeted by the amazing smell of cooking pancakes. I looked to see that Gracie was already out of my room, probably already eating. I got up, got dressed and ready for the day.
"Something smells good." I said as I walked into the kitchen.
"Ross made pancakes!" Brody said. I looked to Ross and he smirked.
"See, I am the pancake master." Ross said, putting a pancake onto a plate and handing it to me.
I was quite impressed. He got both of the kids up, showered, dressed, and fed before I even woke up.
I sat down beside Gracie and started eating.
"I have to admit, they are pretty good." I said.
Ross sat down beside me and started eating his own.
"Yeah. I'm actually glad I ended up making pancakes instead of you. Just the thought of your cooking." Ross shuttered.
"Hey! I'm a good chef. Just ask Gracie." I said. We all turned our attention to her.
"Well... I guess you do make some mean cereal." Gracie said.
"Come on! Help me out here. You're telling me i've never cooked an actual meal with you over?" I asked her.
"Nope. Guess you'll have to show us some other time." She said.
"Hmm, okay. I challenge Ross to a cook off. Tomorrow we both make pancakes and everyone else will be the judge." I said.
"Deal. But no bribing the kids!" Ross laughed.
Apparently he wasn't worried at all. But boy, I was. I haven't cooked a pancake in my life.
Later that day, Gracie drove herself home. We all had our chores done and Anna was still at work. We all sat in the living room, bored as ever.
"Ughhh. I'm bored." Bella said.
"Me too. Make some fun!" Brody yelled.
"Hmm, I have an idea." Ross got up and grabbed his truck keys.
"If it involves your truck, we can't all fit. There's only two seats." I said, now less excited about the fun.
"I'm sure Bella and Brody won't mind sharing a seat. But you guys will need to get something to swim in." Ross said, walking out the door.
We all parted to our rooms to get something to swim in and met him back out at his truck. We loaded up and somehow I got put in the middle seat, between Ross and the little ones.
Ross started driving, this time turning left out of the driveway. I've never been this way before.
"Should I call Anna and tell her?" I asked Ross.
"With who's phone would do that? She won't be home until late anyways." Ross said. He has lived with her for much longer than I have so he probably knows her better. "Buy you guys start getting dressed. We will be there soon."
The little ones got dressed as I looked away. I guess I could get dressed once we got to wherever we were going.
After around 30 minutes of driving, we turned into a dirt driveway. It was surrounded by woods. Ross got out of the truck and we followed.
"Camille, you can get dressed on the other side of the truck. We will stay over here." Ross said.
"Okay." I walked over and started getting dressed in a bikini.
