I wake up well rested.  It is still quite dark in the room, but the small digital clock on the cherry wood table beside the bed says it is 8:14.  I take a moment to stretch in this nice large bed.  The sheets feel so soft and nice, and the comforter is so luscious.   This is so much more comfortable than the motel beds,  and definitely  nicer than my bed at home was.  I help myself to the bathroom here in this room.  I can't help but gasp when I see it.   The tiles and the cabinets are all just a simple gray,  but the bath tub is large enough for two people and looks to be deep enough to completely submerge yourself.  There is also a small, separate shower stall.   I consider both options for a moment .  I decide to take a shower.  I don't want to use up so much water without asking first- besides, I still need to explore the rest of the house.

I quickly finish up my shower and then wrap myself in the large green towel hanging on the rack.  I head back into the bedroom to change.  This time, I turn the light on in the room.  It is beautiful.  There is a large area rug under the bed that is hunter green.  The rest of the floor is a beautiful wood.   There is a large armoire against one wall that matches the rest of the furniture.   The log wood walls are decoration enough,  but there is also one large painting on the wall across from the bed.  It is an oil painting of some deer grazing.  The one window in the room is covered with dark, hunter green curtains that hang all the way to the floor.  I throw on a pair on jeans and one of my t shirts,  and then walk to the window.   I pull aside the curtains to see blinds behind them, and then pull those up.    There is a little bit of cleared yard right out side the window, and then just trees for as far as the eye can see.  I imagine this room always stays dark in cool with all that cover out there.   Doing my hair would take up too much valuable time, so I just comb the snarls out,  and leave it wet and hanging.  I do manage to remind myself though that the quys may still be sleeping.  I tip toe out of the room and close the bedroom door softly.

There are another 4 doors that come off the hallway that I am in now.   I remember Owen saying that the house has 4 bedrooms,  so one of these must be a bathroom.  I don't want to start opening doors though.    That would be pretty rude.  I continue down the hallway, and then into the living room.  Somehow , I managed to miss the stone fireplace and chimney last night.  I don't know how- it takes up that whole side wall....  The rest of the living room is the  same as I remember,  except now Felix is laying on the couch.    His head is covered with his blanket,  but I can see his feet peeking out at the other end.   I continue through the living room,  pass the tv wall,  and then to the opening that goes into the kitchen.   The kitchen is all standard,  but has plenty of counter space and cabinets.  The counters are a granite color and the cabinets are cherry wood.  It is also one large open area and the dining room table is included in this room as well.    It is a large table  that seats 6,  and the cherry wood theme continues  here as well.   It makes for a rather dark room,  but there is plenty of lighting in here- in fact, the lights are on.  Someone is up.   I notice a door and open that.  There are a few steps that lead down to a lower deck.  There is a large outdoor cooking area off to one side.  There is a stone grill,  and what looks to be a smoker of some kind.  Off to the other side is a large stone table of some kind with an open pit in the center.   It had to have been built right there on the spot.  Various comfortable chairs surround it.  In one of those chairs is Owen.  He actually looks relaxed  and waves a little at me when my eyes finally find him.

"Did you sleep all right?" he asks.

  "Oh yes!  How about you?"

" Just fine.  Please, come sit."

I settle in the cushioned chair that he pointed out.   I take a moment to admire our surroundings.  We are surrounded by more trees and are quite shaded.  I can tell that once the sun is right over head, this area will be quite sunny and warm,  but right now it is still rather chilly.   I should have put socks and a sweatshirt on,  but I wasn't thinking I would be outside.   A flash of light in the distance catches my eye.  Is that..?  Yes it is!  There is water somewhere in the not too far distance.  I can just make out some of it through the trees.
