"Just tell him, Kaya," Gordie urged.

"I don't want it to be weird between us if he doesn't like me," you replied.

Gordie put his hand on your shoulder. "It won't. I know it. Just tell him you like him."

You sighed. "Fine. Alright. I'll do it. Next time I see him."

Gordie shook his head. He looked behind you, smiling. "Oh, look who's walking our way. Hey, Chris!" He waved.

You whipped around. "Oh, hey..."

Chris stopped in front of you and Gordie. "Hey, guys!"

Gordie cocked his head like he was listening to something. "Oh, I think.. yeah, I heard someone say my name.. o-over there." With that, he promptly walked away towards some other people.

You and Chris exchanged confused looks.

"Alright, then. It's not like I wanted to talk to him anyway," Chris joked.

You laughed nervously. "Right..."

He frowned slightly. "You alright?"

You raised your eyebrows, trying to look less nervous. "Oh, yeah. Sorry. Just.. thinking about some stuff."

"Ah."

"Yeah..."

You both looked around a couple seconds before you cleared your throat.

"I guess I might as well get it out." You took a deep breath. "Chris, I like you."

He looked surprised at first, and you were worried you had done something you shouldn't have. Then he smiled. "You do?"

You shrugged. "Yeah."

He let out a puff of air. "That's a relief. I had been debating whether to ask you to the movies this weekend, but I was afraid you'd think it was weird, with us being friends and all. I mean, I didn't want it to make us awkward around each other, and-" he stopped himself. "I'm rambling now."

You laughed, more naturally than before. "That's alright. You're kinda cute when you ramble."

He blushed. "Gordie kept telling me to go ahead and ask you, but I was worried."

Your eyes widened. "Gordie knew? That sneak! I told him I liked you and he never said anything!"

Chris laughed and put his arm around your shoulders. "I think we're gonna have a fun conversation with Gordie."

You smiled. "Yup." You looked up at him. "Pick me up at 8?"

He smiled back at you. "Sure thing, Kaya."
