Georgia slowly opened her eyes to a dark room, her head pounding to the steady beat of a nail being hammered in. 'This must be what death feels like.' She thought.

'George.' Jet's voice broke high pitched, his relief flowed through that one word as he looked down at her.

'Jet.' Georgia mumbled, rolling over to see the darkness retract. His face wore a frown like a crown and his sad eyes drooped out of his head. Georgia's heavy limbs slowly reached out to him, he didn't react.

'Are you okay?' She asked, the question pouring out of her eyes.

Jet sighed and grabbed her outstretched hand, lifting it to his cheek, she barely felt his fingers as they wrapped around hers. She looked at her arm like it was an alien limb before looking back into Jet's sad eyes.

'I have to explain.' He mumbled, his eyes closing and breathing in her sweet flowery scent.

'About what?' Georgia probed, she took in his crumbled clothes, the same from the party last night, the drawn look on his face as if he had been defeated.

'Do you remember what happened at the party?' Jet asked, his blue eyes searching Georgia's face for any recognition.

'I was dancing and then you turned up and I ran. But you followed me. Then...ah' Georgia closed her eyes, willing her sluggish brain to draw up memories. It was like pulling water from a well.

'I kissed you.' Jet offered.

'Yes! And I was so confused that I ran away. I hoped you would follow me.' Georgia sighed. Jet noticed the colour raising in her cheeks, he didn't let his surprise show.

'You should have thought it.' He murmured.

'That would have been against the point.' Georgia smiled.

Jet raised his eyebrows. 'What happened afterwards, George?' He leaned closer.

'I was on the beach, and then...Nick appeared...' Georgia froze afraid of the image in her head. 'Jet, he had fangs, like a vampire and he...bit...me.' She took a deep breath. 'Jet please tell me that wasn't real.'

Jet sighed, dropping Georgia's warm hand, it lay between them like a tether. 'No, it was real. Nick is a vampire and...so am I.'

Georgia scrambled off the bed towards the wide window, using the couch as a support.

'I want to go home.' Her voice broke, tears threating to spill.

'I'm sorry, you can't. Not now.' Jet sunk further into the bed, staring at the spot her hand was only moments ago.

'What do you mean, not now? What happened to me?' She gasped.

'Nick drank your blood, you would have died.' he pleaded.

'A transfusion of blood.' Georgia recited, remembering an old website. 'Transforms a human to a vampire.'

'Yes. I'm sorry. I had to.' His voice pleaded with her to understand.

'No, you should have let me die.' Georgia screamed. 'I can't do this to Liam or dad, they need me.' Georgia's tears streamed down her face.

In that single moment, her life and plans had been shattered all for the cost of her life. Jet slowly climbed off the bed and walked over to comfort her.

'Stay away from me.' She screamed. 'You did this to me and I will never forgive you, you ruined my life. My...mortal life.' Her tears splashed on the pale floorboards below her. 'I just wanted my life back to before, I didn't want any of this.'
