She could see him, leaning against the lockers opposite her, at school, Georgia used her locker as cover. He'd stopped trying to say hi to her in the halls, mainly because she ignored him. She rubbed her neck, Nate had been right, her neck had completely healed 2 days after going home. It meant she didn't have to explain to her dad why she was wearing scarves and he didn't ask any more questions about her absence. It had been 2 months since she stepped out of Aly's house and she had no desire to go back, no matter how much Aly begged. Georgia just wanted it to all be in the past and think of it as a bad dream. She peered through her locker, Jet was leaning close to some girl, that cocky smile plastered on his face and those full lips. She pushed away the image of those lips on hers. Aly sauntered up to her.
'Still ogling?' She sighed.
Georgia slammed her locker. 'No.' She scoffed. 'I was just looking around.'
Aly laughed. 'If you only count the area around Jet.'
'He's an asshole anyway.' Georgia scowled.
'I remember a time when you thought he was dreamy.'
Georgia stormed off, Aly hurried to catch up.
'Alright, that may have been in poor taste but come to a party tonight.' Aly said stopping in front of Georgia. 'It will take your mind off him.'
'No, you know how much I hate parties. Besides my minds not on him.' Georgia said.
'Tell that to your face.' Aly pointed out the longing still in every pore of her face.
Georgia scoffed again and went to walk off. Aly held onto her.
'Come on, I know you love me and I will be there as well.' Aly gave her best smile.
'Oh yay. The third wheel to Aly and Chad.' Georgia faked excitement. 'No thanks, I'll take my book and bed instead.'
'But it's Friday night.' Aly whined.
'And there will be other Friday nights.'
'But there won't be this Friday night again.'
'I'm sorry Aly, but I'm not going and that's final.'
Georgia cast one last glance at Jet, his ice blue eyes fixed on her before walking away from everyone and towards normalcy.
Georgia rushed home and shut the front door. Today had been draining and Aly wouldn't let the party go. All she wanted was her life back to how it was before, she didn't want to be plagued with nightmares of the grey eyed guy or watch as Jet laughed at her hope of the kiss meaning something more, she wanted it back to when the only thing that was ruining her life was her mums death, when that weight crushed her down and Aly was the only one to pull her back out. Georgia wanted her simpler life back, she ran up to her room, desperate to avoid all conversation. Her phone buzzed on her bed, she sighed and answered it.
'What's up Aly?' Georgia asked.
'You need to come over and help me.' Aly begged.
'Get Chad to do it.'
'George, Chad has the fashion sense of a chimp. Nothing is going to help there.' Aly's voice deadpanned.
'Hey.' A faint voice called.
'Sorry sweetie. I love you.' Aly called out.
Georgia laughed. 'Mine isn't much better.'
'But I miss you, please come.' Aly pleaded.
