Aly walked in, her shoes squeaking on the floorboards and he head searching round. She spotted Georgia sitting at the desk and ran towards her. Georgia quickly shut her diary before Aly picked her up in a bear hug with impeccable strength. Georgia was shocked and her voice had disappeared in that moment.
'Aly.' A deep voice said. Georgia tried to look through Aly's platinum hair and caught the goofy smile and red locks of Chad. 'Put her down. I need to hug her.'
Aly put her down and looked towards the ground. She was unusually quiet today. Chad stood in front of Georgia and enveloped her in a hug, although not as crushing as Aly's. Chad let go and she finally found her voice.
'Hi.' Georgia murmured, her eyes focused on Aly who was still avoiding her gaze. 'What's been happening?'
'We thought something truly bad happened to you.' Aly said, digging her conversed toe into the floor.
Georgia looked at Chad. 'Why won't she look at me?' She asked.
Chad nodded towards Aly. 'Ask her.'
'Aly.' Georgia asked lightly. 'Can you look at me?'
When Aly looked up, Georgia noticed her eyes, her flat brown eyes had a slight golden tint to them. Georgia stared at her eyes intrigued, the gold seemed to swirl around her irises.
'How?'
Aly quickly looked away. Georgia turned towards Chad, hoping he would spill the secret, then she notice his eyes. They were the same, gold flecks spattered around his hazel eyes.
'She's a werewolf, isn't she?' Georgia said and Chad nodded his head. 'But why?'
Aly's eyes flashed with rage as she looked at Georgia.
'Why? Because I was useless as a human. I was just fodder in this battle against Nick, I couldn't save you or anyone else. I will not be useless anymore. I will be able to help and it means I'm not the only human either.' Aly seethed.
'But I'm human.' Georgia mumbled.
'No, you're not.' Aly spat. 'You're the reincarnation of a girl who disappeared before her 17th birthday. You are only a copy of a vampire and she is still inside you. She controls you. You are no more human than I am now.'
Georgia could feel her chest tighten as the words hit her like a slap in the face. She struggled to understand why Aly was being so rude to her. She grabbed her book and ran out of there.
Georgia carefully shut the door behind her and the building pressure in her chest let go. She rested her head against the door, tears dripping out of her as Aly's words ricocheted around her mind. Her earlier plans crumbled before her, her individuality crushed her under the evidence piling against her. Her legs leaden, she walked to the bed and let the blankets absorb her cries. She wasn't upset at Aly's decision to become a werewolf, she was hurt at the venom that Aly had spat at her.
Alice lovingly stroked her hair. She knew it was her, it was the touch of Georgia's own fingers as they soother her. Georgia raised her tear filled eyes to her.
'Am I-'
'Shhh.' Alice spoke softly, offering only her silent comfort.
Staring into her own face only broke Georgia out in a new wave of tears, wrapping the blankets tighter around herself. Giving herself a safe space. She cried for everything that had happened to her, everyone who had lied to her, no one wanted Georgia.
They all wanted HER.
With the last of her tears, Alice disappeared and Georgia moved out of her cramped position and walked outside to watch the world. The sun offered her warmth but the cold wind ripped it away as Georgia shivered on the balcony. The horrible green dress that Nick had made her wear, gave no protection. The wind found its way through and around the material.
