Georgia closed her eyes and concentrated. She need to talk to Alice. She could feel Jet beside her as she called for Alice. Her pleas sat unanswered in the air. Nick had sealed the secret passage behind the picture and she had frantically searched the room when she woke up on silk sheets. She pushed again, begging for Alice's help.
The turning lock broke her concentration and she refused to open her eyes. The door creaked open, the tapping of hard soled shoes bounced towards her. Each tap a jolt to her heart.
'Ignore him George.' Jet's voice drifted around her.
Georgia counted her breaths as she heard his suit jacket slip off his shoulders, the crinkle of his pants as he bent to lay his jacket precisely around a chair.
His hand swiped across the jacket, the sound stinging her cheek.
His cufflinks clinked onto the table, the sleeves of his crisp white shirt being expertly rolled up.
Her stomach turned at the moment. She knew where these motions lead to and her fear turned to Jet. She froze, ice crystals bursting in her nerves, she couldn't form a warning to Jet. Her mind so focused on his slow steps towards her.
'I've got a surprise for you today.' She could hear the smile in his voice. 'Come now, there's no need to be scared. It's almost time for a celebration.'
Georgia's eyes peaked open. Nick stood in front of her, his face filled with excitement and a hand held out to her.
She stood up without taking it.
He looked mildly annoyed as he withdrew his hand. 'I thought we were past this Alice.' He seethed. 'No mind, it's time to reveal the surprise.' He pressed a button and the mirror dissolved, showing Jet strapped to a metal chair.
'Jet.' Georgia ran to the window, her eyes drawn to the blood appearing at his waist. He smiled at her.
'I'm fine.' He passed to her. 'We need to get you safe first.'
'Well, I feel out of the conversation. Jet, we can hear you in this room. No need to communicate telepathically.' Nick spoke with a gleeful smile.
'You're a bastard.' Jet spat.
'Because I'm smarter than your clan.' He spat the last word. 'Alice, undress.'
Georgia stumbled back and took a deep breath. 'No.' She whispered, glancing across to Jet.
'Run.' The thought hissed in her mind.
Nick stared at her and shrugged his shoulders, a smirk playing at his lips. 'Okay but this is your doing.'
He dove for her.
Georgia managed to maneuver around him and ran for the door. Nick was waiting for her as she reached for the handle. He spun her around and ripped her tights off, pulling at the seams between her legs.
His hand slipped under her dress and over her bare thighs, his finger sat in her waistband. Georgia froze, his breath at her throat kept her still.
He pulled, the elastic grating against her waist.
She heard a stitch pop, then tearing.
The mangled piece of material that was her underwear lay between her feet.
