Sam handed out the bags, containing their dresses before they continued walking down the alley.
'Sam, what did you mean by we aren't done yet?' Aly whined, walking behind Sam.
'Well, we still have shoe shopping and then manicures, pedicures, hair dressers and maybe the odd beauty shop.' Sam beamed.
'How long will that take?' Georgia gasped.
Sam put her long manicured finger to her lips. 'Hopefully we will be finished by about eight, so then we can check into our hotel and...'
'WHAT?! We're staying the night?' Georgia exclaimed.
'Of course, silly. What's a better way to celebrate than a night in the city.' Sam said excitedly.
The alley quickly grew lighter and the hustle and bustle of people walking, grew louder. Georgia could see people talking, couples drinking coffee in cafes, polished black shoes and red heels hitting the concrete blurred past her eyes. Georgia smiled at the sudden motion back into civilisation. Georgia turned around, wanting to say another goodbye to the shop but found the alley opened up after only 10 metres, with light streaming in from both ends. Where had the darkness come from? Where did the shop go?
'What.' The words escaped Georgia's lips before she could stop them. 'How?'
Sam sneakily smiled. 'Magic.' She whispered, twinkling her fingers.
Georgia swallowed her next question, knowing she wasn't ever going to get a real answer. She was determined to enjoy this shopping trip, no matter what other unexplainable things happened besides, her best friend is a werewolf, her boyfriend is a vampire and her 'family' is just a mix of both. Can't forget that she was the reincarnation of a 17th century vampire who if released, will take over the world and cause destruction. Things were already strange enough.
Georgia and Aly followed Sam in silence, as she led them through the throngs of people, easily weaving in and out of them. A large grey building spread out like exploding ooze, blocking the fragments of sunlight that peeped through the tall city buildings. 'The Emporium' was blazoned in reflective white letters across the top the building.
Sam entered with a spark in her eyes and headed straight towards the heels, with a small spring in her step. Sam breathed a sigh of relief when she reached the heels.
'Hello my beauties.' She whispered under her breath.
Georgia stood open mouthed and stared at the amount of shoes.
'Sam.' Georgia ran to her. 'I don't wear heels. They're painful and uncomfortable. Couldn't I just wear some flats.'
Sam shot Georgia a confused look. 'Everyone likes heels, right Aly?'
Aly looked away from a pair of black strappy heels at the sound of her name. She glanced between her two friends.
'Wow, they're nice.' Aly said, striding away to the other side of the store.
'Useless.' Sam muttered, walking further into the stacks of shoes.
Georgia fell down into the plush red seats, she was tired and wanted to go home. She missed Jet, like a small string tugging at her heart, pulling her back to him. She pulled her hair up into a messy ponytail and slunk further into the chair, closing her eyes for that much needed rest. Sam came running up, six different boxes carefully stacked on top of each other.
'No time for rest.' Sam said, her light voice breathing through the growing fog of Georgia's mind.
'Are we done?' Georgia said, her voice cracking from sleep.
