About Ben Adhem (may he rest in peace).
His years being long, have now ceased.
But he lived a good life,
Full of joy, and not strife.
And he was rich I am told,
Blessed with silver and gold,
And tis' always said of About ben ahem,
He truly loved his fellow men.
But by himself or the devil he was deceived,
Tricked into this life of ease,
The greatest command he failed to keep!
So there in his eternal sleep -
He rots in hell.
But at least he loved his neighbor well.
