So I was listening to this song with my dad on the way home from choir.... And got an idea for this one-shot. I hope you enjoy.

Please listen to the song while reading!

......................................

There was a farmer, a teacher, a preacher, and a former hooker.
They were all on a bus and on their way to Mexico: one for vacation, one for higher education, and the other two were searching for lost souls.

As they were talking or reading, or even looking out the window, the driver wasn't paying attention and went through a stop sign.

Meanwhile an 18 wheeler was going through the intersection, and 18 wheelers can't stop on a dime. The bus was hit.

*There are three wooden crosses on the right side of the highway.......
I guess it's not what you take when you leave this world behind you.
It's what you leave behind you go......*

The farmer and teacher were killed on impact. Leaving behind his young son, and her wisdom.
The preacher was close to death himself. But the former hooker was fine. She leaned over the preacher, tears in her eyes: guilty that she was alive and the others dead or close to death.

The preacher handed her his now bloodstained bible and whispered his last words to her, "Can't you see the promise land?"

The hooker thought of all that they had left behind, and what she had ahead of her.

*There are three wooden crosses on the right side of the highway........
I guess it's not what you take when you leave this world behind you.
It's what you leave behind you go......*

.......................Years later................

Pastor Hiccup Haddock was preaching at his church, he had just told them the story. (The one you just read :)

He then held up the bible the preacher had given to the former hooker on that dreadful night.

"Bless the farmer, and the teacher, and the preacher. Who gave this bible to my mom; Valka. Who read it to me." He concluded his sermon.

.........................................

There are 3 wooden crosses on the right side of the highway.
Why there's not four of them now I guess we know.
It's not what you take when you leave this world behind you: It's what you leave behind you when you go.
There are 3 wooden crosses on the right side of the highway.
