//This is a modern AU where Hiccup walks into the music room to find Astrid singing a few songs

One day during lunch Hiccup Haddock walked into the chorus room to grab a workbook that was due later that day. But went he got to the door, he paused. Someone was in there singing. He looked through the small window to see Astrid Hofferson standing in the room with her earbuds in and she was singing.

She looked down at her phone and began to scroll down her playlist and found the song she was looking for. Then she started to sing.

I remember the moment
I remember the pain
I was only a girl
But I grew up that day
Tears were falling
I know You saw meHiding there in my bedroom
So alone
I was doing my best
Trying to be strong
No one to turn to
That's when I met YouAll this time
From the first tear cry
To today's sunrise
And every single moment between
You were there
You were always there
It was You and I
You've been walking with me all this timeEver since that day
it's been clear to me
That no matter what comes
You will never leave
I know You're for me
And You're restoringEvery heartache and failure
Every broken dream
You're the God who sees
The God who rescued me
This is my story
This is my storyI hear these people asking me
How do I know what I believe?
Well I'm not the same me
And I saw the proof I need
I felt Love I felt Your grace
You stole my heart that dayYou've been walkin' with me all this timeAll this time
From the first tear cry
To today's sunrise
And every single moment between
You were there
You were always there
It was You and I
You've been walking with me all this time

Hiccup was still there when the song ended, he thought about going in there to talk with her, but then she began to sing again.

You were walking on the moon
Now you feeling low-ow-ow
What they said wasn't true
You're beautiful
Sticks and stones break your bones
I know what you're feeling
Words like those
Won't steal your glow
You're one in a million, this, this is for all the girls
Boys all over the world
Whatever you been told
You're worth more than gold
So hold your head up high
It's your time to shine
From the inside out it shows
You're worth more than gold
You're worth more than goldEverybody keeps score
Afraid you're gonna loo-loo-loo-loose
Just ignore
They don't know the real you
All the rain in the sky
Cant put out your fire
Of all the stars out tonight
You shine brighter this, this is for all the girls
Boys all over the world
Whatever you been told
You're worth more than gold
So hold your head up high
It's your time to shine
From the inside out it shows
You're worth more than gold
You're worth more than goldSo don't let anybody tell you that you're not loved
And don't let anybody tell you that you're not enough
Yeah, there are days when we all feel like we're messed up
But that truth is that we're all diamonds in the roughSo don't be ashamed to wear you're crown
You're a king, you're a queen inside and out
You glow like the moon, you shine like the sun
This goes to you, wherever you areThis, this is for all the girls
Boys all over the world
Whatever you been told
You're worth more than gold
So hold your head up high
It's your time to shine
From the inside out it shows
You're worth more than gold
You're worth more than goldSo don't be ashamed to wear you're crown
You're a king, you're a queen inside and out

Before Hiccup could sneak in again, he suddenly heard her begin to sing one of his favorite songs from 'The Greatest Showman'.

The world that's waiting up for me
That I call my own
Through the dark, through the door
Through where no one's been before
But it feels like home

They can say, they can say it all sounds crazy
They can say, they can say I've lost my mind
I don't care, I don't care, so call me crazy
We can live in a world that we design

'Cause every night I lie in bed
The brightest colors fill my head
A million dreams are keeping me awake
I think of what the world could be
A vision of the one I see
A million dreams is all it's gonna take
A million dreams for the world we're gonna make

They can say, they can say it all sounds crazy
They can say, they can say we've lost our minds
I don't care, I don't care if they call us crazy
Runaway to a world that we design

That's when Hiccup walked in and joined her in singing.

You may be right, you may be wrong
But say that you'll bring me along
To the world you see

Every night I lie in bed
The brightest colors fill my head
A million dreams are keeping me awake
A million dreams, a million dreams
I think of what the world could be
A vision of the one I see
A million dreams is all it's gonna take
A million dreams for the world we're gonna make

Astrid looked up at Hiccup, quickly pulling her earbuds out of her ears and asking, "How long have you been here?"

"Since 'All this time'."

"Oh.....I didn't mean for anyone to hear me sing...It's just been a hard day."

"No, no! That....You were amazing!" Hiccup exclaimed.

Astrid blushed a bit, "T-thanks."

Hiccup smiled at her, before grabbing a workbook and leaving with her to their next class.
