Grandpa? Grandma?

Hey I saw some elderly Hiccstrid pics and I decided to make a story where Hiccup and Astrid are grandparents.

Summary: Hiccup and Astrid are missing their dragons and their grandchildren decide to help make them feel better 

........................

"Grandpa? Grandma?" their 9 year old granddaughter, Beth asked, walking over with her 6 year old brother Stoick.

"What is it Beth?" Astrid asked.

"Why are you and Grandpa sad?" Beth asked.

"We miss our dragons." Hiccup stated, easing onto a chair in the Haddock house.

"Oh.... Do you want anything to help you feel better?" Beth asked.

"No we'll be fine dear. You go and play with your cousins and brother." Astrid said giving them a shooing motion.

"Okay Grandma. Just call if you need anything." with that Beth and Stoick left.

When they got outside they met up with their cousins; Sky, Harold, and Leif.

Okay genealogy time!

Hiccup (55) and Astrid (55) had 3 children: 
    Finn : who died as an infant in the last chapter
   Brant: he's now the chief and is 32
   Iona: 30

Brant:
Leif: 12
Sky:8
Harold: 5

Iona:
Beth: 9
Stoick: 6

"Guys. Grandma and Grandpa Haddock are sad cause they're missing their dragons." Beth said, "We need to do something to help cheer them up."

"Why don't we ask them to tell us a story?" Harold asked.

"Hm... What if we acted out one of their stories?" Leif suggested.

"But which one? There are so many!" Sky exclaimed.

"Well do we all know the story of Grandpa defeating the Red Death?" Lief asked.

"NO!" the other four exclaimed, staring at Lief.

Leif sighed and said, "Maybe we should just ask them to tell us the story of the Red Death."

So they all headed inside.

"Grandpa? Grandma? Can you tell us the story of the Red Death?" Sky and Beth asked at the same time.

Hiccup and Astrid chuckled and Hiccup then said, "Gather round and I'll tell you the story of how we defeated the Red Death."

An Hour later....

"After that I ended up in a coma for....." He looked to Astrid for help.

"7 weeks." 

"And after I woke up I discovered that we were at peace with the dragons and that I had lost my leg." Hiccup said gesturing to his left 'leg'. 

"Wow." 

"Cool."

"Awesome."

The grandkids continued to react to the story.

"Grandpa?" Beth asked.

"Yeah?" 

"If you don't mind me asking: What happened to the dragons?"

Hiccup and Astrid looked at each other.

"We have no clue we....." Astrid was cut off by the shriek of a night fury. 

With that everyone ran outside to see Toothless and the rest of Berk's dragons landing.

"TOOTHLESS!" Hiccup shouted, sounding like he did when he was 15.

He ran over to his dragon. Toothless sat in front of him (Think the end of Gift of the Night Fury)

"Bad dragon very bad dragon. You scared me to death. Don't ever stay away that long again....and what is in your mouth?" Hiccup scolded in a kidding way.

With that Hiccup was pushed to the ground and Toothless gave him a piece of regurgitated fish.

"EW!" The grandchildren chorused.

Hiccup laughed nervously. 

 "Eh..."

Toothless looked between Hiccup and the fish. Hiccup followed his gaze.

"Not again bud." Hiccup complained but Toothless gave him a stare and slowly Hiccup took a bite of the fish.

With a mouthful of that fish Hiccup looked at his dragon. Toothless swallowed and Hiccup groaned. With great effort Hiccup tried to swallow. When he did he shuttered. 

"Ick." 

Toothless then gave him a gummy smile. Hiccup returned the smile before going an hugging his dragon.

He looked over and saw Astrid and Stormfly bonding again. 

Then he saw Leif, Beth, Sky, Stoick, and Harold standing there with disgusted looks on their faces. Hiccup began to laugh as he got n Toothless and took off.

"Oh I've missed this bud. I've missed you." Hiccup said to Toothless who then vibrated under Hiccup.

With that Hiccup patted Toothless on the head and he slid off: scaring his grandchildren.

Then he activated his flight suit and glided over Berk. 

He was glad that the grandchildren decided to ask Astrid and himself to tell them the story of the Red Death.

So in a way they ended up cheering him up anyway.
