HTTYD ONE SHOT BOOK

If Hiccup sang....

13 year old Hiccup Haddock was walking through the forests of Berk, new bruises forming. He had just been once again, beat up by Snotlout, Tuff, and Ruff.  He was crying, no one cared about him...except maybe Gobber. His own dad didn't care about him. 

He made his way across streams, around and over dead or fallen trees, and rocks. As he went along he whispered a few things, "When the sharpest words wanna cut me down. I'll send a flood gonna drown them out."

As Hiccup continued to walk, he began to sing. (play video now)

" I am not a stranger to the dark    Hide away, they say
'Cause we don't want your broken parts     I've learned to be ashamed of all my scars
Run away, they say        No one'll love you as you are," Hiccup sang as he tore his sleeve on a branch to reveal scars on his arm, 

"But I won't let them break me down to dust    I know that there's a place for us     For we are glorious    When the sharpest words wanna cut me downI'm gonna send a flood, gonna drown them out   I am brave, I am bruised    I am who I'm meant to be, this is me," 

then Hiccup looked up and then his sleeves were torn off to reveal a whole lot of scars and bruises,

"Look out 'cause here I come    And I'm marching on to the beat I drum
I'm not scared to be seen    I make no apologies, this is me        Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh     Oh-oh-oh-oh    Oh-oh-oh-oh    Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh, oh

"Another round of bullets hits my skin," 

there are flashbacks to his previous beatings, 

"Well, fire away 'cause today, I won't let the shame sink in   We are bursting through the barricades and   Reaching for the sun we are warriors," 

there are more fashbacks of him beating Gobber in sword practice, 

"Yeah, that's what we've become (yeah, that's what we've become)

"I won't let them break me down to dust," Hiccup pulls out a knife and throws it at a tree, "I know that there's a place for us     For we are glorious     When the sharpest words wanna cut me down   I'm gonna send a flood, gonna drown them out," 

Hiccup looks down at his now bare arms, "I am brave, I am bruised I am who I'm meant to be, this is me...."

Hiccup ran back towards the village, still singing strong, "Look out 'cause here I come    And I'm marching on to the beat I drum  I'm not scared to be seen  I make no apologies, this is me." 

Hiccup walked into the great hall, his arms still bare, everyone could see his scars and bruises, "Oh-oh-oh-oh  Oh-oh-oh-oh  Oh-oh-oh-oh  Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh, oh  This is me  and I know that I deserve your love   (Oh-oh-oh-oh) 'cause there's nothing I'm not worthy of  (Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, oh, oh)."

Everyone looked at him as he went over to his table and sat down, "When the sharpest words wanna cut me down     I'm gonna send a flood, gonna drown them out This is brave, this is bruised  This is who I'm meant to be, this is me," 

he then looked up to see Stoick and many others watching him, "Look out 'cause here I come  And I'm marching on to the beat I drum I'm not scared to be seen I make no apologies, this is me When the sharpest words wanna cut me down   I'm gonna send a flood, gonna drown them out," 

Hiccup then heard Snotlout and the twins laughing and pointing at him, he simply got up and walked to near the doors of the great hall, "I'm gonna send a flood Gonna drown them out  Oh  This is me."

After that last note was sung out, Hiccup opened the door and let it slam shut behind him.
