Chapter 11

Gabrielle’s POV

I woke up in the morning to the light from the sun shining though my blinds. I slowly sat up, and looked at the time. I smiled to myself when I remembered that it was finally the weekend and I hadn’t needed to walk up to an alarm clock. It also meant my dad was going to be home for most of the day.

He actually made it to some of my practice yesterday, and I had finally remembered my music, which helped. Friday’s were the days my dad would drive me, so he made sure I had what I needed to play the music while I skated.

I pulled the covers off of me, and got myself out of bed. I left my room, and quickly made my way down the stairs. I went into the kitchen, following the aroma of bacon and pancakes, my usual Saturday morning breakfast.

“Good morning,” I chirped as I walked over to the kitchen counter to sit down at my usual barstool.

“Good morning Gabi, how’d you sleep?” my dad asked me.

“Pretty good,” I answered.

“When did you get home last night?”

“Around eleven I think,” he told me,

“I checked your math by the way, good job on it,”

“Thanks,” I said.

“Oh and before I forget to tell you, Bella’s mother called this morning. She want’s you to go with Bella to take her little brother somewhere, I forgot,” he told me as he flipped the pancakes on the griddle.

“Bella will be here to pick you up in about two and a half hours,” he informed me.

“Okay, why do they want me to come though? Just asking,”

“She knew you both wanted to go to the new shopping outlets, but some work came up so she thought it’d just be easier to have you stay with Bella until she was ready to take you both to the outlets,” he told me.

“Okay, makes sense I guess,”

“Here,” my dad told me as he put some pancakes and a few strips of bacon onto a plate for me.

“Eat up, and then go get ready,” he told me.

“Okay,” I said, and, and did as he told me to do, and ate the pancakes and bacon that had been placed in front of me.

After I finished eating, I put my plate in the sink, and headed back upstairs to get dressed. I went into my closet, and picked out a pear of jeans, and a cream colored sweater, along with my brown, riding style boots.

Once I had my clothes laid out on my bed, I went into my bathroom to brush my hair and teeth, do my makeup, and any other things I felt the need to do to get ready. I looked in the mirror one more time and brushed through my hair before setting the brush back down, and leaving the bathroom.

I grabbed my purse that was sitting on top of my dresser, and put my phone and a few other things in it before heading out of my room. I check the time on my phone once I’m down the stairs to see that I had about forty-five more minutes until Bella would come to pick me up.

My dad and I decided to watch the news on TV for a bit until Bella arrived. I wasn’t exactly a big fan of watching the news every morning like my dad was, but he enjoyed it on his day off so I wasn’t going to complain.

After watching the news for a while, I soon heard the doorbell ring, and I got up from the couch and grabbed my purse, knowing it was Bella at the door. I opened the front door to see Bella standing there holding her little brothers hand.
