Chapter 13

Harry’s POV

Once Ben and I started walking more into the room; he led me over to a table and sat down.

“This is where I usually sit,” he informed me as he grabbed a book from the stack that was placed in the middle of the table.

“Don’t you want to go over there where more of the kids are?” I asked him.

“I already told you, I’m okay here,” he said, obviously getting a bit angry at my attempts to get him to be more social.

I just sighed and ran a hand through my hair as I tried to think of more ways to get him to want to go talk to some of the other kids that are here.

“Hey buddy I’m going to head to the bathroom real quick, think you’ll be okay for a few minutes?” I told him.

“Yeah,” he answered, without even looking up from his book.

“Okay, just stay at the table and I’ll be right back,” I said to him as I got up from the chair, and he of course just nodded in response.

As I walked away from the table, I looked around the room a bit to see if there was anywhere marked for the bathroom, but I couldn’t find anything. Even if I saw one in here, I probably wouldn’t want to use it since it’d be made for younger kids to use, not tall teenagers.

I looked behind me to make sure Ben was still okay, and then I opened the door that we came in through and walked down the hall. I was walking down the part that just continued on, opposed from choosing the other way that had led down to the lobby. As I continued to walk down the hall, I realized that I probably should’ve chosen the other way to walk down.

There was most likely going to be a bathroom in the lobby, and if there isn’t, there’s a lady at the front desk to tell me where one is. Once I made it to the lobby, I decided to just skip looking for one in the space, and just go ahead and ask the lady at the desk where one is. As I approached the desk, and asked her my question, she looked up from her paperwork, and I wasn’t sure if she even heard my question.

“There is a bathroom right there,” she told me, and pointed behind me.

I turned to look at where she was pointing, and sure enough there was a sign that read ‘Bathroom’ in brown letters.

“But I don’t recommend using it though, you can if you want, but a few of the stalls are broken. The guy is coming to tomorrow to fix it,” she informed me.

“Well is there another bathroom?” I tried to hide the annoyance in my voice.

“Down that hall, fifth door on your right,” she told me and pointed at one of the halls.

“Thanks,” I mumbled.

“No problem,” she said.

I walked over to where she had pointed, and realized that it was the hall I had just been going down to look for a bathroom. I looked at every door on the right that I passed, counting each one until I got to five.

Once I did get to five, I arrive in front of two doors, one said ‘Girls’ on it in black, all caps lettering, and the other one of course said ‘Boys on it, in the same font. I couldn’t believe I’d missed it when I was walking down the hall, I’m pretty sure I walked right past it. I go ahead and just ignore my mistake and just be happy I found it now.

Once I was finished, I quickly washed my hands once I realized that Ben was still by himself in the room, he was probably wondering what was taking me so long.
