Chapter 18
Gabrielle’s POV
I was so glad the week was almost over; it seemed to be lasting forever. I’ve barely made it through each day with how tired I’ve been. I’ve been staying up way later than I needed to texting Harry. He was just a fun person to text, and I’d always feel bad having to end the conversation, so I just didn’t.
I’ve started texting him during the day too, but I realized I have to be careful about that, because I’ve discovered people like to ask me who I’m texting a lot. It’s understandable that they’d want to know since I’m usually not involved in talking to them or whatever because I’m texting, but it still is annoying.
I just tell my dad that I’m texting Bella and all is done with, but Bella isn’t so easy. I’m now usually texting when I’m in her car while she’s ranting about something, and I never really pay attention to her rants anyway, so I might as well occupy myself.
Now she knows that I’m not paying attention to her though, which is fine, because I don’t get to text very long when I’m in her car anyway because Harry has to practice, he just texts me while they’re waiting for the coach to show up. I started by telling Bella that I was just texting my dad, but she didn’t really believe that I was rapidly texting and getting texts back so quick from my dad who was at work.
I eventually just turned my sound and vibrate setting off, and would just try to hide the fact that I was texting; Bella really just listened for the sound of a text anyway.
“Just one more day of practice and then you girls get a day off,” Bella’s mom told us as she was driving me back to my house.
“One day isn’t enough, I can’t wait until next month when they start the renovations,” Bella said,
“We get a few weeks off, and the rinks will be so much better when they’re done,” she said.
I had completely forgotten about the renovation. The manager of the ice skating rink company we go to has signed to get some work done on the private rinks. I guess they’re just going to make them nicer looking, and expanding the sixe of the ice rink to make it more Olympic sized.
Apparently a few people had complained that the private rinks weren’t good enough, and should be better since the people practicing there are basically professionals and Olympians in training. I’d bet so much money though that it was the hockey team.
I don’t know any other people or group of people who practice there that complain about the rink, because it is perfectly fine. Plus most people who skate there hardly know each other, and they wouldn’t make a big renovation just because one person asked. It had to be one group of people all at once, so obviously the hockey guys, and it was probably Zach’s idea.
“Gabrielle are you excited for the renovation?” Bella’s mom asked after noticing my lack of talking.
“Yeah, I guess so,” I shrugged, I hadn’t really thought about the new renovation.
Just that it was probably a waste, but that it is going to be nice to get a couple weeks off, even though my dad will probably lose it. Who knows maybe the rink will be even better and it’ll be worth it. “So Gabi do you want to go back to the outlets this weekend when we don’t have to go to practice?” Bella asked me.
“Yeah, sounds fun,” I said,
“Still hoping that the jacket will still be there?” I asked her.
“Yes!” she quickly said,
“They have to have it, they didn’t have it on the website. Well they did, but it was one of those limited time jackets, and they’re already sold out of my size online,” she said.
