"Who is that noob trying to get in my way?" you scowled, the bright screen of your computer casted shadows on your face.
With a few stabs they fell dead over, or so you thought. Just when you had your avatar turn around to finish the business you came for, you heard footsteps behind you. On reflex your hand moved and your avatar parried the attacks.
Rising Magic, it read on the tag above the pitiful Witch class character that was trying to kill you for no apparent reason. You had the feeling someone was following you since you left one of the in-game city but for them to actually ambush you once you were out in the wild...
So outrageous!
The thing that perplexed you was that the opponent had no guild tag. If it had, you could figure out the reason since various guilds had grudges to settle with you. There was always the possibility that the player was in a guild but used an open account.
All those things flooded into your mind while you dodged the magic attacks of Rising Magic. You maintained distance by jumping back and typed:
"What do you want?"
Your words fell on dead silence. A sigh escaped your lips.
Fine if you don't want to talk, guess I'll just need to kill you.
You quickly worn out his mana before you dealt him the finishing blow. Their corpse was lying in front of you. Two minutes passed and it still didn't turn into a tombstone, meaning they didn't choose to revive yet.
Are they spying on me to get my location?
You debated for a few minutes whether or not to further attack the dead corpse but deemed it petty and moved on. You knew their ghost was watching you and alarmed other players.
Ts. I should go back using another account, this one's also been found out, your avatar escaped through a teleporter and landed in a nearby city.
It wasn't that hard to figure out where you currently were and before they'd come, you quickly logged off and immediately switched to another account to finish your task. You smirked looking at the pile of open account cards in your drawer. All their levels and equipment were pretty good for a normal player.
Those nice sets of cards was what one could afford with all the money made from playing in the game in a rather, let's say, dirty way.
The most attractive part about those cards was that each avatar already belonged to a guild. There was no need to apply to join a guild, especially ones that were backed by pro teams.
Your last one was just a simple open account that has left a guild because you were targeted by them. What you were doing wasn't for weak-hearted players, being hated by everyone was something you had to get used to.
You marked the open account with an X and threw it to the other pile of cards with the same initial deemed useless.
Once you logged on with your new account, you contacted your client to let them know of your account switch. Your new account had already joined Herb's garden.
That's perfect, you grinned.
You checked your status, this account hadn't made it that far, well obviously, it was just an open account. Like every big guild, Herb garden (backed by Tiny Herb) had elite groups and your first task was to get into one of those and become a trusted member. For a normal player this was almost an impossible task but how many times have you already done it?
It was as easy as tying your shoes but over the time the various guilds became aware of a player who gained the guild leader's trust only to betray them and sell their information. The guilds were wary and suspicious of anybody that suddenly rose in their guilds and gaining their trust had been a great wall for you to overcome.
