"Wow if you make me do this, you need to be at least 10x cuter than you are."

Your eyebrow twitched. For the last 10 minutes you tried to get him to wear a suit, he's been cocky and near crossing the border of verbally assaulting you.

"Damn it, can you just please do it? I paid for you to be my partner and not a nagging hag!"

"You're the nagging hag, that's why you have to hire someone to be your partner!"

"That's why you are still single, too! Just wear the stupid thing, please?"

"You're not cute at all."

"Ffs, how many times do you have to say it? I get it, I'm not cute at all. Please just wear that thing now, we're running out of time!" impatiently you looked at the clock.

You felt like you wanted to hammer your head against a wall. Finally, after another couple of minutes bickering, he agreed to change. The headache that was hidden, started to make itself apparent. You had to sit down, you were already dressed and waited for that overly arrogant pro player Sun Xiang.

If he rented himself out, shouldn't he be trying to make a good impression? No, that guy didn't care about that at all. In five minutes the cab was going to arrive. Of all days, it had to be  Valentine's day where you had to attend a wedding of your friend who insisted you were lying when you said you were still single.

Why couldn't you bring yourself to attend the wedding alone? You just had to go and rent a lover.

"Are you ready now? The cab's going to be here in any second."

"Give me time!"

"You take longer than a girl!"

"Shut up!"

When Sun Xiang finished changing, you already held the door open. He gave you an eye roll and painfully slowly went through the door until you had to give him a kick to speed things up.

"Oh, you're here!" your friend greeted you, "you look amazing!"

"What? You look stunning yourself!" you replied.

"Oh..." Sun Xiang was detected,

"is that your boyfriend? He's handsome!" your friend elbowed you in the sides.

"Thanks," your fake smile almost crumbled when Xiang showed himself off.

"Would you stop," you hissed and pinched his hand.

"Never, you dragged me here. We both are going to suffer," he squeezed your hand back and didn't let go of it.

Surprised, you looked away. Your face heated up, was he actually being sweet now?

"I won't let you out of my eyes to do stupid stuff and leave me here with these people." 

You rolled your eyes.

Nevermind, he's an ass all the way and only cares about himself.

For the rest of the wedding, he refused to let go of your hand. You had mixed feelings about it, on one side his hand felt nice and on the other you hated his guts.

At least he played his part as your boyfriend, in fact, a pretty good one. He knew how to act to the point you were creeped out by him actually being nice. Scarily nice. Sometimes you'd really get the feeling he was your actual boyfriend but the occasional death glares he sent you, immediately pulled you back to reality.

It was finally time for dinner, you were starving. Waiting for the food, an elder lady next to you, started to wind you up for a conversation:

"What an amazing boyfriend you have."

"What? Oh, haha y-yeah he is."

"What's up my little cutie," Sun Xiang reacted to compliments insanely fast for some reason. Your eyes rolled for the 100 times today.

"I've been watching you both and I've to say, you're even a better couple than the bride and groom haha don't tell them though. Ah, Valentine's day is a blessing isn't it?" seeing the gentle smile on the lady's face, you couldn't refute and just nodded.

"Ah, thank you," Sun Xiang smiled too and grabbed your face gently, pressing your cheeks together.

"Of course, we are the perfect couple, after all we're going to get married, right? Let's try to catch the bridal bouquet. Everyone is allowed to go and catch it, we have double the chance to win."

"Weh going whash?" you tried your best to speak with your cheeks being abused like that.

"Such a lovely couple. I know your future will be prosperous!"

If you mean death being what we desire. Then yes, yes it will.

You were grateful the food came and the elder lady conversed with her husband. Sun Xiang gave you a smug, you narrowed your eyes and tried to keep up your appearance.

"And now's the time for the bride to throw the bouquet. If everyone would assemble behind the bride please!" the announcement triggered a mass movement.

Everyone wanted to secure the best spot.

"C'mon, slowpoke. Get it moving," Sun Xiang grabbed your hand and pulled you along to the middle of the hall.

Seconds passed and your eyes followed the bouquet floating in the air. Your eyes moved to find Sun Xiang looking at you. Both of your eyes widened and you immediately turned away from each other.

"Tch, you were standing at the wrong place!" Sun Xiang ran a hand through his hair and looked genuinely upset.

"What? You were the one dragging me here! Why are you getting upset now? It's just a stupid bouquet, do you wanna get married? Who would be stupid enough to marry you?"

Disappointment spread through the mass and everyone returned to their seats. Sun Xiang and you still bickered, not knowing who caught the bouquet.

"Why are you two looking so upset?" the elder lady from before was smiling at you,

"here. I'll gift you this, I'm already married so I don't need it."

"What?" your view rested on the bouquet she held in her hand.

"Really?" Xiang jumped up in happiness, "Thanks!"

Then he dragged you out of the hall.

"Where are we going?"

"To find a room of course!"

"What? Why?"

Sun Xiang stopped and turned around and with a genuine smile he said:

"Shall we start our honeymoon now? Skip the wedding!"
