Pat. Pat.

Your face felt sticky. You groaned and opened your eyes.

"What's wrong?"

A yawn escaped your lips as you blurred saw a little hand tapping your face before it mischievously slapped onto your husband, Luo Ji's face.

"Luo Ning?" Luo Ji also groggily woke up.

The few rays of sunshine that barely made it through the half-drawn curtains shone onto an energetic face.

Luo Ning jumped in your bed, up and down, up and down before he said, "Lazy parents, wake up! It's time to go hunting!"

"Hunting?" not only you but Luo Ji was also perplexed.

"Yes, you promised! Promised!"

The clock showed it was eight in the morning yet Luo Ning was already awake and bouncing around.

"Ah, we wanted to go to the field today. There was the special event," Luo Ji seemed to remember and turned around putting his arms around your waist, pulling you closer.

Then he mumbled, "Aning, there's still time. Go and play in your room, let us sleep."

Luo Ning started to jump again. His tiny frame almost had enough weight to crush you. Luckily Luo Ji's strong and gentle arm was able to pull you to him even more, colliding against this chest as he helped you evade Luo Ning.

"Ninger, your father's right. We'll set out soon."

Luo Ning was only five but he was already energetic and most of all impulsive. You were a bit worried about going with I'm to the fields.

"It's ok, don't worry," Luo Ji seemed to read your worries and coaxed you, "I've already made proper plans. He won't be able to do anything spontaneously."

You giggled, he was always calculating everything possible, "Alright."

You nestled back into his arms and bumped your nose against his. You enjoyed the brief peace until not long later, Luo Ning came back and jumped onto the bed again, "Go, go, go!"

His loud voice woke you up properly and Luo Ji growled.

He picked up his glasses and caught Luo Ning, "Settle down. We're awake. Let's have some breakfast and then go, ok?"

"Yeah!" Luo Ning wriggled himself out of Luo Ji's hold and ran into the kitchen.

"Mum! Dad! Hurry up!" his voice echoed back.

You and Luo Jin looked at each other before you both sighed.

Later that day, when the nice summer breeze circled around the beautiful fields, the three of you arrived at the event.

"Luo Ning!" a bunch of kids ran to Luo Ning while their parents greeted you.

You watched your son with his friends running to the other group of kids that were accompanied by adults.

This event was a preschool one and the whole kindergarten participated. At first, you didn't want to accept Luo Ning going along because of his impulsive nature but the teachers said you could join and follow around, so your heart was a bit more at ease.

The event was a treasure hunt. A map has been provided to the children, and since the area was cut off and protected, the kids could safely roam around.

Some kids went in groups with a teacher or parents. Your son was with his friends and you and Luo Ji decided to follow them.

"Everyone," a teacher shouted for attention, "The hunt will begin... Now!"

Excited shouts appeared and the kids started to run around, however, your group surrounded Luo Ji who held out the map, "Ok, so as you can see we're here and through my calculations, it's plausible if the treasure is somewhere around he-"

"Dad. That's no fun, just follow the clues!" Luo Ning shouted and already ran away waving his friends after him. Hw was not only impulsive but also impatient.

"It's ok, let's go after them," you patted Luo Ji's shoulder as he sighed, "My foolproof plan..."

"Well, they're only kids so they just want to have fun."

But the hunt wasn't as easy as you thought, mainly because Luo Ning decided midway they didn't need to follow the clues and just charge through the place. This caused not only his group but also other groups trouble.

"We'll be the one to win!" his battle scream echoed in everyone's ears as he brought the whole event into chaos.

"I failed to reel him in," Luo Ji nervously looked at you. It was quite the funny sight to see him running after Luo Ning, almost managing to catch him only for the small boy to juke him at the last second.

"It's ok, you tried," you stifled your laughter and sincerely said.

Luckily, the event was over and you finally were able to head home.

"I'm the best," Luo Ning huffed as he laid on his seat and his fist was held in the air.

"You've to be more careful. You can't just recklessly run around without any care for others and yourself," Luo Ji started to scold Luo Ning as he put the seatbelt on for him.

"Ok, I promise dad."

Luo Ji furrowed his brows, "You say that all the time."

"Hehe. I'm hungry, can we eat dinner at my fav place?" Luo Ning put on an angel expression but it was clear that Luo Ji wanted to refuse.

"It's ok, let's just do it. I'm also hungry."

Two vs one wasn't fair and Luo Ji had to give in.

He sat on the driver's seat and kissed your forehead, "Alright, but tonight I want a nice dessert from you."
