"Welcome on board!"

A deep serene yet threatening voice penetrated the ominous silence wrapped in the foggy mist surrounding the luxurious ship. The waves gently crashed against the white paint waiting to slowly and furiously swallow the floating might once for all.

You clutched an envelope tightly in your hand and walked the stairs up to the ship. No one to be seen. No one to be heard anymore. Through the numbing fog you walked and didn't stop. An odious feeling rose to your stomach, up to your throat but you quickly pushed it down with a deep breath and watched as the light on the path in front of you, one by one turned on.

You were still far away from boarding the ship. The noisy, sleepy sound of the waves brought a sinister atmosphere, and with each step you took, your feet itched to instantly turn around and see if there was something behind you.

However the calmness inside your body forcefully kept you on the track. Your head held high you paced over the lightly volatile elegant wooden bridge, focusing your stare on the light that magically appeared in the sky, embattled on a thin iron string, seemingly nowhere attached, its end and beginning unknown.

Once your feet swept across the tiny gap between the bridge and the cruise, goosebumps seemed to rip your skin apart. The view in front of you was majestic, horrifying and endlessly daunting. If it weren't for the cruise to be white, the darkness would've long enveloped the whole surrounding, no source of brightness could be found anywhere.

As if you could feel something, you instantly turned around, only to see the black ocean. No bridge, no lights...everything was gone. The attempt to swallow a deep breath got stuck in your throat and you almost coughed in order not to suffocate.

Solely the envelope in your hand could act as a reassuring mean to calm the state you were in, your fingers relentlessly crumbled the expensive paper in your palm. Only then could you continue walking towards the never ending darkness.

"Everyone please be prepared," the voice was back. This time more mechanical.

You gulped. The saliva in your dry throat hardly went down.

Be prepared? Be prepared for what?

A cavernous pounding rung in your ears, in beat with your heart, it wouldn't stop. Your fear reached new heights. It wasn't only dark but the fog made your sight even more hazy, wearing you out aggressively.

Minutes passed, you were sure that more than half an hour's gone by since you stepped on the ship slowly drifting across the ocean. Coming to this realisation, only now you felt the wind hitting against your already jittery body.

There was no use. You had no idea what you should do. First...find your room or any room? This seemed like the most logical option. Maybe there were instructions waiting for you since apart from you, it appeared that no one else was on this ship.

It was almost like a...ghost ship?

Just the thought of it made you tremble even more. You needed to find your room or any place that wasn't the open deck. If only there was light.

"The countdown begins."

The voice, no matter how creepy it would be in this situation, was still strangely soothing to you, like you weren't the only person on the ship. Be it a good thing or not, you would figure it out later.

"It is set to 30 mins. Please be prepared."

What in the world was going on? Why was there a countdown? Why would there be a time limit? For what? What should you do? What could be done?

You didn't know so you blindly followed your own sense of direction, slowly walking along any walls to give you security instead of blindly charging through the darkness in the vast and wide space that was the deck.
